two live albums, two sprawling compliations from cash and waits, a bunch of metal, and joanna newsom... in the top 10? weird.

for the record, the best (or at least the one that's well-written and most in line with my taste) top 50 list i've seen this year is at http://www.cokemachineglow.com which is pretty much my go-to site for music reviews.

^ The one cool thing about this list is the abundance of metal. I downloaded 2 of the albums on it (Drudkh - Blood in Our Wells" and Enslaved - Ruun). I'll check out Kataklysm too. Will report back with results, and I'll upload them if they are worth it. I've had that Katatonia album on my computer for a little while and will probably get around to checking it now because of this list too.

Thanks for that link too zip. I might be checking out this site more often too now. I like how they included links to mp3s on many of their top 50 list
