White Sox Appreciation Thread - 2005 WORLD CHAMPIONS
- I know the season just started.
- I know they haven't really played anybody yet.
- I know that every year, Major League Baseball is a war of attrition.
With that said, this is a great feeling seeing them winning the way they are right now. Following this enigmatic team for over 15 years has left me nearly silent in baseball discussions.....
They aren't dominating anyone, I know this. But winning the close games the way they are really shows that this team might have the heart to do things this year.
Appreciated.

the only thing stopping the REAL sox this year is if jerry reinsdorf some how instigates another feud between the players and owners. hey it worked for him in twelve years ago. if you told me then that ozzie guillen would end up being our manager, and consistently drop F bombs in front of the media, i'd be a happy child.

yeah squ1d or phila, you probably don't get a lot of the local coverage i get, but i can be pretty positive in saying that this year, his attitude is different. i know the past. but hearing the way he talked in spring training, the man wants to come out and play his ass off - no bullshit, just baseball. they talked about his leg being atrophied from sitting out so long; his surgery was major and he's working hard to get back. as my favorite baseballer of all time, i want so bad for him to come back and play well and contribute, and i think he will.
(and contract years never hurt too!!)

Agreed.....fuck a cub.
Also.......Frank has had a pretty nice attitude over the past year and a half or so. Shit, he came on with Boers and Bernsie and was happy as can be. Than Ozzy has to put his unneccesary 2 points basically saying "we don't need frank if he is acting up".......but truth is Frank is a HOF player who can still produce. The only thing is..........Everett is painful in the field.

I dont want to have to dig up the prediction thread, but I am pretty sure I called this one. Great pitching staff top to bottom. Best era in the AL. Shingo needs to get back into his groove, all will be fine.
Its funny how we still win a ton of games with the longball, kind of ironic. I have low expectations for Frank's return. Anything positive he brings is a bonus.
Fuck a Twin.

Yeah man! I was pissed on Saturday. Saw the game was going into extra innings and started trying to find the game on TV. Jizzed in my pants when I saw that Comcast had picked up WGN (I'm sure they have had it for a while, I just never really watch TV) but that had some shit about making sandcastles or some bullshit......FUCKKKK SHOW THE GAMEEEEEE......I really need a baseball package.zygmontone wrote:you probably don't get a lot of the local coverage i get
True...squ1d wrote:I am amped for them to come to town in the end of July. I plan on starting shit with mad annoying O's fans.
Very True...Philaflava wrote:You think they're good now, just wait till Frank Thomas is 100% healthy again.
Baseball bat to the back of ya head (Southside style)squ1d wrote:I'm actually thinking Frank's piss poor attitude is going to come back and fuck up the blue collar chemistry they have going right now. Hopefully he comes back ego free and fucking ready to man up.
GO SOX!
shit, i'm just seeing this thread now...this trip in oakland should be a test, given our record on the west coast last year.

Is this really John Garland? The same assclown from the past few years? Amazing stuff tonight. The White Sox are running shit. If this thread is still up in 5 months along with the yearly Bulls thread that has going is joined by a "bears are running shit" thread........go to your basement folks, end of the world.
^^^ I'm glad they gave Jon a chance to mature and come around. Very un-Reinsdorf-like. See: Kip Wells......
Garland had a couple of gems last year, but this year it looks like has really stepped up his game.
I made sure to pick him up three weeks ago in Fantasy......while I didn't think he had a CG shutout in him last night, people should really no longer question that he has the ability.
