OFFICIAL WORLD CUP THREAD

so two new observations......
First, what the fuck Spain, not picking F. Morientes....he's a savage and will score in every big game. Don't blame him for being on a crappy liverpool team, that runs the offense through midfield....booooo
Second, what the fuck Argentina, picking a gimpy G. Hainze or the craptastic N. Burdisso over J. Zanetti. Dude was the captian of your squad and now, without any drop in form, you pick these two clowns over him....retarded. especially since burdisso plays for Inter with Zanetti, so clearly you where watching the games and saw burdisso constantly on the bench or injured, and when he wasn't on the bench he ws getting straight reds for smacking and punching folks....I predict that argentina will now loss in the group stages and waste there talented ass team just like they did in '02

Black soccer fans told to avoid parts of Germany
Reuters
Wednesday, May 17, 2006; 11:22 AM
BERLIN (Reuters) - Black soccer fans attending the World Cup are risking their lives if they stray into parts of Germany where neo-Nazi attacks are on the rise, an anti-racism campaigner said on Wednesday.
Supporters should avoid parts of the eastern German state of Brandenburg, said Uwe-Karsten Heye, head of anti-racist organization "Gesicht zeigen" ("Show face"), referring to the former communist state which surrounds Berlin.
"There are small and medium-sized towns in Brandenburg and other places where I would recommend that nobody with a different skin color go," Heye, a former government spokesman, told radio station Deutschlandradio Kultur.
"They would possibly not leave there alive."
Thousands of foreign fans will travel to Germany for the tournament, which begins on June 9 and runs for a month.
A German-Ethiopian man was seriously injured in what police suspect was a racially motivated attack in the Brandenburg capital of Potsdam last month.
Around 100 people have been killed in far-right violence since German reunification in 1990. The attacks have often been directed at dark-skinned foreigners and most have occurred in the ex-communist east.

^^^^ wooorrrd. I'm over in Sweden right now. Sweden just won the hockey world tournament yesterday and now everyone is firing up for the soccer championship. shit's gonna be craaaaaazy. I'm talking running around-the-block-in-the-nude type crazy everytime we score a goal.
Sweden traditionally has a good defense but trouble scoring goals, but I have a feeling Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Larsson will be kicking ass this summer. Both are in great shape and especially larsson who played great in the champions league final.

Even though I can't stand Ljungberg, dude's got game. He just looks like a broke-ass Phil Collins with his constant whining.

^^^ I'm not a ljungberg fan either, I think he's a total bitch. And really annoying cos he frequently appears in the media over here, they love him, and you can spot him on pretty-boy posters and ads wearing make-up everywhere you look. But he sure can play soccer tho.. and he runs like a mufaka.

I live there.

US lost to Morocco in a friendly. So much "the world is scared to play us."

They had most if not all of their starting team out there with the exception of Renya who went out in the 15th minute because dude is always hurt. They just looked like they didn't feel like being there, missing some good chances (especially Donovan) and playing uninspired the whole game. They sucked.HomieDontPlayDat wrote:That's a friendly though. I didn't watch it, but I'd presume they were hardly playing their best players/playing their best game in a pre-Cup friendly.
I'm not underestimating the US team.

I agree, they played half ass ( like they were trying to avoid injury)stupidregister wrote:They had most if not all of their starting team out there with the exception of Renya who went out in the 15th minute because dude is always hurt.
