i think so. it's all about matchups and the bottom 3 seeds in each conference are far from set.blessingindisguise wrote:Is it too earlier to ask whose gonna get upset in the Playoffs?
in other news:
Cavs' Pollard apologizes for on-air remark
Associated Press
CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Cavaliers center Scot Pollard looked into the camera during a recent game and said, "Hey kids, do drugs."
Pollard was sitting on the bench in street clothes when he made the remark during a 20-second timeout Sunday against Indiana. The Cavaliers didn't find it funny.
"We have spoken with Scot and certainly do not condone his actions," general manager Danny Ferry said in a statement Wednesday. "He regrets his mistake, using inappropriate humor, particularly when he has always been very involved in the community, projecting positive messages to our youth. We will handle the issue internally."
"It was a bad joke," Pollard said in Thursday editions of The Plain Dealer. "That's all it boils down to. There are a number of things people could say about it, but it just turned out it was a bad joke. Obviously, I don't believe that."

the NBA playoffs need to shrink a lot both in number of teams, and games played in the early round(s)
NJ/Orlando 30-36 7/8 seeds its just a waste of time for them to play
Denver 32-31 GS 31-36 likewise have no business in the playoffs
granted the 7/8seeds aren't always this horrible, but they are almost never a factor
play 82games eliminate 14 out of 30 teams is pretty sad, 4 or 6 per conf would make so much more sense, or make it one giant conf like the Premiership and take the top 8teams
making Dallas win 4games vs GoldenState is beyond stupid, playoffs taking 2whole months?

That matchup isn't the best example to prove your point. The Warriors happen to own the Mavs lately. The Warriors lost to them once over the past 2 years and have won 4 straight I believe. IF the Warriors make the playoffs, most Warrior fans would prefer they play dallas because of the recent ownage. If they were to face off in the playoffs, that could be one of the most intriguing 1vs8 matchups in awhile.
As a Warrior fan I can't get too excited about them yet because they are still a horrible road team and always end up disapointing the fans, most likely they lose tonight in Seattle.

4 7game series spanning 60days is beyond insane, and much of it is totally unneeded

Ay!My New Catch Phrase
I got a new saying: גDonגt watch me, watch TV.ג
Every time I shoot, thatגs what I say.
When youגre getting ready to shoot it, theyגre actually looking at you and Iגm like, גNo. Donגt watch me, watch TV. Turn on your TV channel. This is what I do.ג
Itגs getting a little cockier. Playoff time is coming so I need to get that edge going.
גDonגt watch me, watch TV.ג
Itגs like, גI donגt know why youגre jumping to guard me, youגve seen whatגs going to happen before on TV.ג
One day we were in practice and one of the rookies, Mike Hall, said he can stop me.
I was like, גWhat? They donגt have TV in the D-League?ג So every time I shot the ball I was like, גDonגt watch me, watch TV.ג So thatגs where it came up from.

what kind of fan are you?
some fans like to hold out hope for their underdog teams and impartial fans like to think that miracles can happen. and we root for them to happen. this is like telling the NCAA that the expansion to 65 teams was a mistake and we should cut it back down to 32 so this way the best teams can all play each other and it'll cut down time.
i'm in the camp that is starting to believe that if the wizards with arenas don't win a championship within the next three years, they will either not win with arenas, or arenas could very well win a ring if and when he decides to go play for a team with a larger salary cap.
i think they can do it though with gil.
BOB, your thoughts.

Well Gilbert has stated that he will take a paycut as long as he's in DC with Eddie Jordan in order to acquire new guys. He doesn't want to be in the Iverson-KG-Jermaine O'Neal trap of max contracts and inflexible team spending. The Wiz aren't a low-budget team, Etan Thomas is making an absurd amount of money for single digit production, and Jamison's contract is massive, but he can opt out in '08 (doubt he will). Championships in the L these post-jordan days, usually revolve around which team has the big guy, be it shaq, duncan, dirk, or amare and the wiz have a crippling need in that area. FUcking Wilcox was looking like Moses Malone out there last night. If the wiz were ever able to acquire a big man that can play in the post and be an intimidator on defense, something Kwame's bitch ass never even remotely amounted too even when he wasn't acting like a cake-throwing flaming faggot. KG would fit beautifully, but Kevin McHale would never take a package of Jamison, Etan, and packages of prospects. Plus I like Jamison.SYMantiks wrote:i'm in the camp that is starting to believe that if the wizards with arenas don't win a championship within the next three years, they will either not win with arenas, or arenas could very well win a ring if and when he decides to go play for a team with a larger salary cap.

Anyways, the wiz have a guy, Andray Blatche, all of 20 years old, 7 feet tall, can playmake, swat shots, snag boards and hit threes. He looks like a fucking heroin-chic model out there, but its really fucking impressive when he asserts himself out there. For every sweet dribble-move though, there is a blown layup or charge call. He may not be the key to the wizards winning it all, but he is a player that looks exceptionally talented and fits what the wiz desire. I await his development eagerly.
I would be more depressed if Gilbert left than if he spent his entire career here without winning a championship. I want to see that zero hanging from the rafters in DC. Where I can reminisce about the daggers.
And the blazers' radio announcer is a homo. When did Gilbert brag about the blazers? He simply stated that he would score fifty against Nate McMillan. He never said, "I AM BETTER THAN THAT SCRUB JARETT JACK AND SERGIO RODRIGUEZ IS A GAY EURO SPANIARD HOMO GUARD FAGGOT." He's been clutch all year (see last night, aka Dagger3) and he would have tied that fucking atrocity of a game if they called the foul that LaMarcus Aldridge obviously committed on that Gilbert drive that cut the lead to one. Besides, they are once again looking at lottery balls, so who cares.
hope these thoughts help
