Was at The blues villa game last night even tho i hate both with a passion, got a free ticket so couldnt resist. Shit was crazy at the end, even 2 pubs in the area got smashed up after the game & more kicked off in the city centre. Going there again Saturday in the Spurs end so they better get them seats fixed.
Russia to host World Cup 2018 & Qatar to host in 2022
You can buy whatever you want with oil money, including a World Cup!
Yahoo.com wrote:Qatar, an oil-rich nation that has been independent since 1971, has a population of about 1.7 millionג500,000 less than Houston. At 4,416 square miles, it is smaller than Connecticut.
Following corruption allegations that led to two of the 24 FIFA executive committee members being excluded from the vote, the daring decisions that challenged conventional knowledge are bound to be controversial.
If there's been foul-play it needs to be dealt with accordingly. But I do think it's great that two new countries get to host it for the first time. Obama is
Damn... eventhough all of that violence is so stupid and I would never participate, there's still something kinda cool about people beating eachother senseless because of football. The only sport that is truly larger than life all over the world.

Arsenal haven't lost @ home to Spurs in 17 years, maybe you don't know what that means?
Sorry it's taken me so long to reply, I recorded a bunch of last weeks matches so I didn't want to come back in here until I'd seen them.
Arsenal not having lost to Spurs in 17 years means:
A:Tottenham has improved significantly.
B:Nothing lasts forever.
I'm not saying that Spurs are better than Arsenal. They're not. But they do deserve a bit more respect than you give them. They're a deserved top 5 team IMO.

yeah, it's really great that the same organization that rallies around 'fair play' and urges everyone to 'kick racism out of football' gave the most important sporting event in the world to a country that has some of the most socially backwards and unequal laws on their books and another that has a serious neo-nazi problem that tends to manifest itself at football games and could care fucking less?
holy crap, am i seriously condemning an arab country to you? lmao
The votes were bought a long time ago. FIFA is a corrupt steampile of shit and Sepp Blatter is an annoying faggot who despises the fact that he can't control the English free press.

Do you live in Birmingham? Bet the atmosphere was amazing. I like St Andrews. Nice and grimy round Digbeth.

Russia is a corrupt and godforsaken shithole and Qutar, in spite of their money and advanced technology, is still somehow stuck in the Flintstones era. But so what? We've seen how football unifies people and makes the world a smaller place, letting them host such an important event is a part of "reaching out" and giving them a chance to show themselves from their better side. It's not like SA is an incorruptible bastion of equality and social justice anyway. What's funny is Qutar and their stance on alcohol, wonder how they'll deal with drunken Scandinavians humping eachother in public. If you're saying Sepp Blatter is a monumental cunt then you're preaching to the choir.

They are getting better but when you look at individual quality they're not anything to write home about, this is what pisses me off. That they could beat Arsenal simply because they wanted it more. They really worked hard for each other and made the most of an impossible situation. If we had someone like Vieira, Mad Jens or Adams in the squad it wouldn't have happened, they would have shouted people's heads off and smacked Song in the face for thinking hes Zidane. City is looking slightly better in terms of squad and especially defense, but I think Tottenham is on the same level as Liverpool once Liverpool gets back in to gear. We'll see.

Yeah im from Birmingham. Been to a few of the derbies down the years, always great atmosphere's at those games especially at St Andrews, not so much at Villa Park, that place is like the Emirates.
Even tho im glad Russia got it for just for somewhere new & different i dont see how they beat England. They have to build 14 new staduims plus airports, train stations, hotels & roadworks where us & Spain/Port are not that far off being close now, we could have held it next summer if we had to. Moscow even struggled to host the Champions league final a couple years back & thats just one game. Will be a great world cup there tho if they pull it off. Woulda prefered Australia over Qatar for 22 but their bid didnt get past round 1 like Englands.
Did anyone see this vid of Lineker, probably old but just come across it

yeah i say fuck russia and qatar's bids. russia less so..qatar's is an absolute joke.
spain and portugal wouldve been amazing. australia or usa shouldve gotten 2022. @ even considering japan and korea even though they hosted 2 world cups ago.
How come people still act suprised England didn't get it? The England bid was doomed from the start. I knew the Netherlands/Belgium bid was not going to make it as well, even though, in my opinion, we had the strongest bid. Total bias though. I'm actually halfway glad we don't get to host it in 2018.
Anyway, especially Russia was such an easy guess. You could probably make some good money backing their bid at the bookies, as to me it was a virtual certainty.
You'd think they'd nominate a token Inter player for Ballon D'or, then again why pass up another opportunity to cream over Barca (?) ; )
And yeah, Nanananana Na-Na Nasri is unbelievably good this year. Hes actually better when Fabregas isn't on the pitch. Not only does he score crucial goals but he scores them in style as well. I struggle to think of an Epl-player who's in better form ATM.

Yeah, pretty much. Though if I was voting I'd give it to Xavi. He had a much better club campaign last year, what with Iniesta being hurt for most of the second half of the year (including both legs of the tie with Inter). Plus, while Iniesta scored the most important goal of the WC in the final, Xavi was perhaps the tournament's best player, with 12 more "chances created" (25) than the next closest player.
Howard Webb is such a mug. Rio and De Jong kicking people in the chest and getting away without as much as a freekick. Blatant red cards in both instances.
Utd was dangerous on the counter and didn't mind letting Arsenal have posession and soaking up the pressure, which was never that dangerous anyway.
Gotta love that Rooney can't score to save his life, I wonder if people still think it's blasphemous to suggest that Cesc is better (?).

Fuck me. You just knew it would happen. I hate those "more than a club" DNA-obsessed cunts and two years in a row is just a little too much. At least Silvestre @ Camp Nou isn't a possibility and as of now the squad is fairly intact with only Verms crocked and Almooh out of the picture.
Bayern to avenge the final. I'm looking forward to that.
