Former Bengal Williams agrees to sign with Vikings for $33 million
An all-night negotiations session with the Minnesota Vikings produced a deal that has made Madieu Williams a formal Bengal and now one of the highest-paid safeties in the NFL.
Williams, 26, agreed to a six-year, $33 million contract Friday morning after his agent, Ken Zuckerman, and Minnesota officials worked through the night to get a deal done. As both sides spelled out the final language of the contract, Williams headed to the airport Friday morning for a flight to Minneapolis to sign the deal.
The contract tops Deon Grant's five-year, $31.8 million deal that was the highest of the free agent safety class of 2007. Williams was considered one of the top safeties in free agency this year and his presence will fill a big need in the Vikings secondary.
Williams is known more for his coverage skills than his hitting, and the Vikings wanted to shore up some of their pass-coverage deficiencies.
Never really heard of him to be honest, but i am glad to see us get a good pass coverage saftey

Major upgarde over Smith. We landed the top safety in FA. I am beyond excited for this guy to wear purple.
The Wilfs flew in Berrian in on their private jet, he is in MN right now.\
lol @ us snagging Thomas Tapeh back, sorry philly. I remember seeing tapeh at the U of M. The guy was a bench press champ at the school. Looks like we are letting richardson go
its surprising that NE didnt franchise Moss, seems pretty risky to let him hit FA, he was a large part of NE going from a very strong offense(5-7th or so) to best offense ever
he should also probably get 50% of Wes Welker's next contract(well Brady and Moss can share it)

agreed. He is getting older, what is the longest contract another team will give him? Also who else are they going to franchise? Brady loves him and there is zero reasons not to bring him back. 22 td's in the year and he is on the free agent market in the next two months

devestating blow to the Giants. but i ain't mad at gibril. gotta look out for dolo and your fam.
plus al davis is a moron for spending that much on a safety.
Wilson is terrible. Losing Mitchell is more significant.
think about what you just said and then edit this statement when you are less drunk.
you will not find a single person that knows anything about the NFC East that will agree with what you just said.
LOL. Am drunk. But I have seen Gibril Wilson get toasted more times than I would like to count. I wish the packers threw in his direction 10 times more in the nfc champoinship game. Gibril Wilson is a joke. That fact that the raiders gave him that much money shoudl tell you something

you must be thinking of james butler cause you are bugging like no joke. gibril's basically had to do the work of two men back there the whole year.

Still though, we need a qb...
so are they def moving to a 4-3 then huh...Chargers released Neal, I love the guy but Pinnock has showed he can be a capable FB and we use 2 TE sets alot now
Browns signed Stallworth. Man they have a great receiving core, a great line, a good rb and productive QB. If they can shape up their D, they're gonna be solid as fuck.
This next year is going to be fucking awful for the Broncos. It is just the start of the FA season and already fans are calling for Shannahan's head for missing opportunities to capatilize on Free Agents.
...What I don't get is how people would want Shaun Rogers, Vilma, and Asante for that amount of money. Especially when there are incredible defensive talents in the Draft.
Not that Berrian leaving doesn't put the Bears in a bind at the Wr position...but did Minny seriously just pay him THAT much? Absurd. He is a good WR no doubt, but cmon? What is he the 4th hightest paid WR in the league now? That is a joke.

free fucking agency.
the texans just spent 20million on a 5 year contract for Jaques Reeves. a #3 CB at best.
Briggs resigned with the Bears 6 year -$36 million. Very reasonable considering some of the signings this year. but who the hell is going to catch passes on that squad? for that matter, who is going to throw, run, or block.
