Didn't we talk about this already? Some years there is a big separation between 1 and 8 like this year. In other years, there isn't as much (see: 2006-2007).
except you make it seem like its an even split good and bad, but its more like 6/1 in favor of the 1v8 being a waste of time, you guys will enjoy 6 of the Lakers/Utah series for that one Dallas/GSW, I'd rather skip the 6
since the nba went to 7 games in the first round, 5 of the 12 1v8 matchups went to at least 6 games.
4 of the best of 5 series since '99 went to 5 games.
2 of these included upsets with the 8 winning over the 1.
That Kobe dunk was ridiculous and not in an athletic sense - he dunked over Milsap and then pushed him after he came down, yet Milsap was called for the foul even though he wasn't even closing to fouling Kobe.
Didn't post cuz I didn't wanna jinx anything before the game but AI just played the game of his contract. I have zero exceptions for them in the playoffs but to see them take game one away is nice.
I'm really surprised to see any team in the playoff give up an 18 point lead like that. Lou Williams is becoming a star too.
Peace to MGripp for holding down the playoff thread dolo, and yeah that Iggy shot was incredible, Turk was all over his ass and he bust it in his mouth.

Total choke job. They gave up 35 points in the 4th quarter to a mediocre offensive team. Philly gets credit for pushing the tempo which is how they're gonna upset the Magic in this series (yeah, I said it).
They very well could upset them if they continue to play "their" ball for half of the game. Their defense today was somewhat (somewhat) reminiscent of their 01 run. This might sound crazy but I hope Brand never comes back (yeah, I said it).
Josh Smith is like 16 years old still and is playing on a team that has zero chance to ever advance to the finals. Sure they might beat the Heat but that's a team that beats itself. I'm a fan of Johnson, Smith, Williams and even Horford but has anyone ever taken a good look at their bench? It's fucking pathetic.
I say let Smith shot whatever he wants, whenever he wants.

I hate NBA games on TNT, its the same 3shitty tv show commercials every 5minutes
ABC is even worse.
Have you ever listened to the music they use to go to commercial? Their musical director is clearly a 50 year-old white guy. Canned Heat? For an NBA game in the 21st century? Seriously???

you hate it because of the commericials? really??? there's a button on your remote where you can change the channel.
how can you hate on TNT when they give us: Marv Albert, kevin harlan, the czar, and the best studio show in sports?
i suppose i could record the games, and fast forward, but yeah everything else is great but those commercials really annoy me, i've been watching too much soccer lately, being able to watch 45mins of action without interruption is so nice
I believe that's the only game that the Blazers beat Houston this season and it took a miracle.
I like our chances, especially with Ron Ron guarding Roy all series long.
The homes teams won during the regular season, but homecourt doesn't favor Houston now.
You were saying?
That was just a thorough annihilation from tip to buzzer. I doubt the Rockets will be able to duplicate that again, but I was really surprised that the Blazers weren't trying to front Yao. That's the way to beat them and the Blazers certainly have the depth to do it. If Brooks plays like that all series long it's going to be game over in a hurry.
I still think Rockets in 6.

Man, I can't wait til the Bulls get bounced.
Allen played like shit, KG is gone, Rose had the game of his life, and the Bulls still barely pulled it out.
Don't get too excited.

as a bulls fan who only talks about basketball with other chicagoans so as to not embarrass my city in a national setting, we have been steady whining for close to ten years straight. (if we do up a bulls blog, thats the blog name just to clarify)
to stand up and rip off your shirt because we squeaked one by is just as annoying as watching noah consistently not have control over his body parts
enjoy the win, but put away the FAGGOTs and the YALL SLEEPIN and the caps lock.
you just jinxed us. celtics in 5.

Now you sound sane and rational. Are you sure you're a Bulls fan?
- Does anybody here still want to want to argue that Rondo is a good on the ball defender? His defense was atrocious, and Rose had his best game of the season for a reason. Rondo doesn't have 7 ft all star to bail his ass out anymore.
- Any team that starts Steve Blake, Nicolas Batum and Joel Pryzbilla isn't winning shit.
-Adelman should be coach of the year. Houston is a really, really well coached team. Battier and Artest are also the best wing defenders to play together since Jordan and Pippen. They will be the only team in the west to make the Lakers sweat a little.
-ER is right that only a few teams have a chance to win each year. BUT having 16 teams in the playoffs is valuable for a couple of reasons.
1) 94 Rockets. Happened once, could happen again. The best team could take a little longer to get healthy, or get better through a big trade.
2) The future of the league learning to be great.
Jordan hanging 63 on the 86 Celtics. KG against the 97 Rockets. The Bad Boys vs the 1984 Knicks. AI's first playoff appearance in 1999. I could go on and on...
None of these guys had a chance to win, and some got swept out of the first round. But this was the moment where the world knew they had arrived. Does Jordan have the hunger to win three in a row if he didn't get his ass kicked by the Celtics and Pistons in the previous 5 years? Can Derrick Rose do great things in 5 years without the playoff experience he gets this year?
One of the best thing about the NBA is watching the rise of great players. If you can't see the drama in that than this sport isn't for you.
