So yeah, the France/Spain match.
Great effort allround by the French, and a deserved result. Despite the tactics, glad to see Henry get his own back on Puyol after the Champions League final too.

Henry seriously needs to work on timing his runs more accurately for the next match though. The amount of offside calls on his attacks was ridiculous. If he can delay it by a split second, we should hopefully see a return to his lethal Arsenal form.

I've got to do something about work on Friday afternoon, there is just no way I'll be able to tolerate being stuck here in this office while Argentina and Germany are playing. I'll be supporting Germany, personally.

that's kinda what i figured...

being that basketball is a better measuring stick in my own head, i used the american dream team in hoops, and put them up against the heat, or the pistons...

in that situation though, i dunno...the longer the dream team has to practice and play together, they'll obviously have a better chance...

also, i just wanted to say i'm a little disappointed this morning...got up, turned to espn to get ready for a game, and no games until friday!!??

booo....

i know they gotta rest and all, but there's been games every day since it started...

i honestly am going to be upset when the cup's over.

so disappointed that spain didnt make it, france is a bunch of old frogeaters who dont care to run for the ball... further more it is absolute bullshit that ivory coast went out on the expense of holland. and why why why did ghana have to meet brazil.. i got my hopes up for portugal anbd argentina now, considering io dont like the other teams really. hope france gets whipped by brazil though.

Ronaldinho: most disappointing player... EVER (in this world cup) along with henry..

germany will make it to the finals and then lose i think...

too bad deco wont be playing the next match

most unlucky player: owen, that had to hurt man, and in the first minute as well :blank:

but most off all, where is senegal and cameroun? eto'o would have murdered every defender in the cup (even puyol)

shevchenko has been a disappointment too, cant wait to see how chealsea works out for him?

and btw, are there any other major transfers over this summer?

Ronaldinho hasn't needed to do shit. They just serve it up for Ronaldo to finish and relax the rest of the game. Henry has two goals while playing in a system that obviously doesn't utilize his talents, same and dinho. The biggest disappointment of the tournament clearly goes to Landon Donovan, who has been hyped as the US savior/spokesperson/whatever for the last year. I hope we don't have to have him shoved down our throats any longer, no homo.

The only players who have really lived up to the hype is Klose and maybe Riquelme. Drogba was pretty tight too.

He's scored 2 of his teams 5 goals, hit the post on 2-3 others, and ukraine is in the quarter finals which pretty much no one had them going that far before the cup. Sounds like a pretty good cup to seeing as the ukraine isnt exactly a world power...

the transfer market opens the first week of july (next week), and thats when people can offically sign players from other teams that aren't free transfers (i.e. ballack).

Just great goals by both teams. I don't get why the Argentine coach wussed out and took out Riquelme to try and play defensive. And why not bring in Messi as soon as Germany scored?

I don't like penalty kicks. Should be a golden goal.

Golden goal sucks b/c then the teams don't take chances and are too scared to go forward.

And what the hell is wrong with the refs this WC?

I'm about 90% sure the whole thing is rigged now. FIFA is corrupt, there's so much money on the line.

gotta blame the coaching for argentina. Messi is world class, wtf happened there? Saviola is tight too.

i don't think they had any more subs. the goalie getting injured fucked it all up, but they still should've put in messi instead of cruz when they did.

I thought the ref was a bit Germany-biased. Maybe it's just me tho.
