I'm not sure what the corresponding US time would be but the first set of 2 matches start at the same time, 1 hour later than the early match on the other days. The second set of 2 matches play at the same time too, kicking off same time as the late game on the previous days.
Looking forward to it, we're gonna be playing Owen and Rooney up front. Gerrard's being rested as he has his yellow card, and he will be replaced by bitch ass Owen Hargreaves.
It'll be interesting to see how England adjusts to all the criticism they've been receiving recently, with the press all saying we've turned into a long ball team, and aren't making enough use of our midfield and letting great players like Lampard and Gerrard go to waste.
Hopefully we will play a much more organised, short-played game, and will get Lampard, our top goalscorer leading into the tournament, and Owen, our top goalscorer of the past...however many years, more clear chances on goal from positions they excel at.
And we'd really prefer to play Ecuador in the next round, as opposed to Germany, so will need to draw, or preferably win. Whereas Sweden need to play hard to ensure they even stay in it.
Should be a great game.

I thought it was a horrible game, because I'm English.
Though I'm just a bit frustrated at the moment because of Michael Owen's injury, and my housemate pissing me off during the match.
But yeah. England played very well in the first half, but fell apart in the second. Good goals from Cole and Gerrard. First Swedish goal was very good, but should have been prevented. Second Swedish goal was rubbish, and a result of very poor defending on England's part.
So close to beating the Swedes, finally. So close.

Sloppy, sloppy defending, you could tell England was playing about 3/4 intensity.
Gerrard provided a nice spark as a sub. Lampard needs to start finishing some of his chances, has anyone had so many and done nothing with them?
Shame about Owen. Always loved the guy since that insane run against Argentina in '98, but he's done fuck all this go round. I'm all about Rooney and Crouch.

it was a real page turner for me.
i need ESPN 360
no it wasnt. i still put ghana-czech as the best game of the tornament
I agree, that ghana-czech match was the best game so far.
Henesse Williams: what is the yahoo live cast? Is it real-time footage?? Free?
Props to England for winning the group and will most likely beat Ecuador next match and continue climbing.. Sweden on the other hand will need some magic to happen in order to beat the Germans who seem to be pretty strong right now plus they got home turf advantage w/ massive audience support.
It would be pretty sweet to knock out the home team so early in the tournament right in front of their entire country tho

Nah, he's done nothing. Third best striker on the squad sorry to say.
Indeed, I've been constantly saying though "Watch, Michael Owen's gonna prove everyone wrong in this match", and I specifically said it in this one. Then, less than a minute in, this happens. Very disappointing.
He's been the third best striker in this tournament, but overall, and as far as what he's proved he's capable of, it's a far different story.
Joe Cole though, eh? Wow. He and Beckham have been consistantly excellent in this tournament.

As opposed to shaking his hand for being the best player on your team. The game doesn't even matter, you'll have to play either Holland or Argentina, what does it matter, they're both difficult draws.
mexico is sputtering into the next round. angola had their chance. the netherlands has the potential to beat argentina. it should be a hell of a match.

reason why I was upset. It shouldnt of been that hard (not that I'm saying Portugal is an easy team to beat). Its not just about passing to the next round, although we're happy we are, just depressed on how we got in..we couldnt do it on our own, we had to depend on other teams to advance. I love Bravo (hes a Chiva, my alltime fav team), but I still want to stab him.
I think its gonna be Mexico/Argentina.
