maybe i'm crazy but i think this is kind of a good move for houston. francis completely went down the shitter the instant him and houston parted ways, and because of his ridiculous buyout, he took a 2 year deal worth only 6 million.

Francis likes dribbling half the shot clock away as much as possible and Rick Adelman prefers ball movement. We will see how this works out.

Move him(Steve Francis) to Shooting guard tell him to pass more and let him get his 12 13 points a game and 4 or 5 assists. That's all we need anyway at that position. Rafer should stay point and the new rookie can be back up. I don't know what we gone do bout Mike James.

I think signing Francis is a good deal if he isn't the same player he was and acknowledges that he'll be a role player on this team. It's a low risk move ultimately given the money involved.

You didn't acquire Mike James to come off the bench. James is your new starting PG.

Rockets have a glut at guard now: Luther Head, Mike James, Rafer Alston, Steve Francis, Aaron Brooks, John Lucas, Tracy McGrady, Kirk Snyder, and Bonzi Wells.

Wells and McGrady can play the 3 as well.

I say you start Mike James at point with a McGrady/Wells/Francis/Head combo at the 2 depending on matchups and whatnot. Alston should be a back up point at best. Brooks probably won't see much play time this year.

Ideally the Rockets will probably be trading Alston and another guard or two to acquire a 4.

I've heard people say that Miami who needs guards badly might deal Udonis Haslem. That would be a nice move for the Rockets.

Getting a guy and not really giving up anybody is always a good play, but now you have 2 new guards that are undersized shooting guards. Then they get bumped to point guard, and that never works. Alston sucks, he is used as a 3 point shooter but has an awkard shot as you saw when you banked in a wide open 3 pointer against utah. They have to deal alston, then have tmac run the point like he did last year. I actually think they have improved quite a bit so far but they defintely can't start chuck hayes and try and play him 30 minutes, they need to get another pf. You could run some interesting line ups, and they will be much better offenesivly

This is a great move, I can't believe people are actually complaining about it. Oh he's another undersized shoot-first point guard. Who the hell cares. And people who think he's washed up are crazy, he was just in a shitty situation. He has All-Star talent so how is teaming him up with T-Mac and Yao a bad thing? He already knows how to play off the big fella and having another perimeter scorer only helps McGrady. He's not as big a headcase as people are making him out to be, he'll fit right into Adelman's system.

Cutino Mobley must be begging to be traded back to Houston. Begging.

he is one of the worst above 7 foot defenders i have ever seen. Yao has 10 inches on boozer and boozer went for 44 on him.
