Thomas, Howard And Green To Join Nate In Dunk Contest

New Yorkגs Nate Robinson will defend his crown in the 2007 Sprite Slam Dunk competition to be held on NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by EA SPORTSג¢, Feb. 17 at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Robinson will compete against three first-time entrants ג Bostonגs Gerald Green, who is an alumnus of the NBA Development League, Orlandoגs Dwight Howard and Chicagoגs Tyrus Thomas ג for this yearגs title.

Last year in Houston, the 5-9 Robinson outlasted Philadelphiaגs Andre Iguodala 47-46 in a dunk-off to become only the second sub-6-foot winner in contest history joining Spud Webb, the 1986 champion. Webb provided the bounce pass for Robinsonגs only 50-point dunk of the competition.

10? Nah fuck that, the competition is pretty lame these days. I think 6 is enough. The winner from the previous year should HAVE to be in the next years competition barring injury. So yeah, I'm glad to see Robinson back actually.

I just heard on ESPN that Tyrus Thomas reportedly said about the contest: "I'm just gonna go out there, get my check and call it day. I'm just into the free money."

He has been fined $10,000 by the Bulls.
