I made a mistake by thinking anyone can vote who isn't registered. Registration is open so anyone who wants to can vote.

My suggestion is you're going to campaign make sure you inform people if they do not provide a valid email address and user name they will not get approved.

Explain to me in an intelligible way what exactly is shady about approving valid email accounts in hopes to avoid any spam, bots, etc?

Is it shady as if I planned to intentionally tell people you could vote without being registered and now you have to register? Enlighten me please.

I hope you don't get any votes because you're an ingrate who doesn't realize I was the one who gave you all this opportunity and I'm the one who put in all this work so this contest could even be possible.

wow-

interesting response--

Let me clarify: I was not calling you shady, nor was I making any sort of personal attack ---

I merely think it is kind of odd that when this contest was advertised, people were informed that anyone one could vote...and now, after the voting has opened, only members are allowed to vote...

not that would even increase my chances of getting votes...I just find it a bit odd

no hate from your one and only ingrate
dirtybird

and thank you for hosting the contest

but please explain why this was necessary
I hope you don't get any votes because you're an ingrate who doesn't realize I was the one who gave you all this opportunity and I'm the one who put in all this work so this contest could even be possible.

shady has a very negative connotation to it and after the work i've put into this contest anything to labeled shady is uncalled for. ANYONE can vote. they just have to take 2 seconds to register.

shady is if i ended the voting before i stated or threw all my support towards one particular candidate.

^ IDE (Creative Juices) is trying to register more than once-maybe!

another reason i'm verifying accounts before activating.

in all fairness i don't its him per se, but the 2nd account with "creativejuices" in the email has come through. :killacam:

maybe. but maybe if enough people take the time to vote or you do a good enough job promoting your remix it may change things.

unfortunately nothing is perfect and this contest will be far from it, but its fair game to anyone who wants to win. hopefully good music will speak for itself.

Let's keep it real everybody...

The creative Juices Remix is good, but so are others... Mine in particular is better, and some others as well...

Philaflava, do you honestly think its so good that 20 people voted for him?! Thats what the kid meant about shady... if i spent a day i could register that many new accounts and emails to be that far ahead as well, but klast i checked, less than 24 hours ago, he had 4 votes. What kind of coincidence is it that 16 people all after 6 o clock yesterday all voted for him?! That shit aint likely...

If good music was speaking for itself as it should, i would have at least 1 vote. But i guess im the only sportsman like person in this contest...

In other terms of "shadiness" i can understand slightly. I've had about 7 people through my advertisements on facebook and myspace tell me how they can't vote for me because they are waiting for accounts to be activated etc. Who knows how many other annonymous people who only care about good music have not and will not vote because the registration process is too much...

Shady = The only person who will register and wait to be activated to vote for someone is their good friend...

This is the shadiness that makes music so garbage in the US today. Its our responsibility as memebers of the culture to keep our hip hop honest...

I'd say 99% of all new registrations have been for Creative Juices and Troy K.

Unfortunately, I don't know how we can stop this. I don't want to change the rules and just have the judges decide, it's just a shame that clearly those people signing up have zero intention of posting on this forum other to vote, when in fact it should be those posters on this forum voting.

I'm at a loss but I will say there is a lot of campaigning going on so I guess that's good.

i registered in here to vote for IDE, i'm fan, that's it...and i make my friends do the same, what is wrong with that, we all think that creative juices is some hard worker and they deserve this.

And i am for unprostituted hip hop, come on.

I dont blame you at all Philaflava... not at all, but maybe it would be best to let the judges choose the song they want to promote the most... this isnt a popularity and get votes contest, this is a music production contest right? If not, you might as well have cut out the beatmaking part and said this was the number 1 fan contests....

And whoever it was who said this is right, it's not like the prize is a million bucks, but you know what... to people like me music is life and everything i care for... I'd die for this shit... It's dirty motherfuckers like creative juices and troy k. who fuck the game up for niggas who hot because they are pushier about ttheir decent product. This hip hop culture isn't about marketing and votes, its about integrity in our music and words...

All i can say to yall is thank you for contributing to the demise of hip hop on the independent level to. And if a crappy mix is chosen to be featured for randum luck and babygrande, im sorry about the affect its gonna have on their credibility and PHilaflava.com's... Their prolly wont be another....

I agree with letting the judges pick the best remix. I got robbed at a scribble jam pre lim battle awile back and they let the crowd judge the battle and the guy i was up against was from georgia and literally no lie had 20 or so people with him and there was about 40 people there so of course you know who won he did!! even the people throwing the event said i clearly won the battle and even the guy who beat me his friend said he thought i won but even told me he has to go for his boy regardless so i got robbed but i still got a invite after but just couldnt afford the trip out to ohio cus even the event organizer knows i was robbed. SO i def think lettin the judges pick the winner cus if its a popularity contest than it doesnt mean the best producer won it just means he was the one who got people to vote for them

fuck you

you don't know the first thing about what's fucking the game up... you call me dirty when I'm just playing the game and doing what I gotta do to win... and if that means informing everyone I know about this contest then SO BE IT... that's not dirty, that's INTELLIGENT... instead of sitting there rocking and moaning like a fuckin' bitch why don't you do something yourself? you're the type of lazy ass amateur beatmaker who expects shit to be handed to you on a silver platter with caviar on the side... wait by the phone, a def jam a&r will be calling you soon... life's not like that motherfucker... that's why, unlike what your ignorant mind thinks, I not only work hard digging out records and producing excellent beats, I also work hard advertising my product and branching out to the right entities... you're losing this contest because you lack initiative, and that's the only reason

and for the record, this is the message I sent Randam Luck before the contest even began:

"Do you know who's gonna be voting or judging this thing to decide the winner? Cuz if its just anyone who's registered at the forum then that's fuckin' weak. Shit's gonna be more corrupt than the LAPD."

and this was their response:

"The label is the deciding factor and philaflava and Randam Luck"

Apparently they were misinformed... anyway, I DIDN'T WANNA BE A PART OF A POPULARITY CONTEST ANY MORE THAN YOU DID, but since that's what it is I'M MAKING THE BEST OF IT.

I dont think its anyones fault if they get people to vote for them why would you not do that?? if someone is normal on thses forums then there would be a disadvantage so either way its gonna be hard to get voting 100% based on the music and hopefully someone judges it but if not i guess you do what you gotta do even though it does suck sometimes. Anyways vote for me!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL peep my remix and if your feelin it vote for me!!!!!!!!!!

This is getting corny. If cats want to change the poll and let judges vote im all for it. I costume made the beat for the track, i stand behind my production. Allot of the remixes i heard are cool, but dont especially fit the song. Its funny how the same cats who predicted themselves and me in the finals, suddenly start crying when they arent getting votes. I work all weekend, i dont have endless time to promote a contest. Ive simply got at cats who support me to vote. If it was open for anyone to vote and no registration think of all the insanity. The fact that cats are willing to take the time to register wait to get confirmed etc. Shows they're dedicated, the vote is deserved. Im just putting it out there i have no problem with A&Rs or the people of philaflava making the final decision.

"pushier about decent product".. man flat out both Troys and mine, blow your remix out the water. instead of bitching. Why dont you put your efforts towards getting some of your hommies to vote. Its open game, same rules apply for everyone. Just because no ones cares about you, dont get all touchy about the process.. Its about the music... if i had a corny beat i wouldnt tell my boys to vote. Im feeling the remix, and the cats who vote for me are also. Im not trying to promote a myspace page. I work with a indi label ready to release 3 LPs.. This promotion prize, which isnt appealing to many is golden to me. Either way.. i would rather see someone active who has something to promote and has a dope remix win. "Fuck the Bullshit"

you don't know the first thing about what's fucking the game up... you call me dirty when I'm just playing the game and doing what I gotta do to win...
And this is the exact mentality im talking about. Im just doing what i gotta do to win?! I'll cheat if i have to?! I'll fuck you over to come out on top?! what's the difference here?

Philaflava straight up said that yall have straight up registered more than once in order to give yourself more votes. you're cheating!

Playing the game? Hip hop and music aint a fucking game you misinformed product of westernisation. Hip Hop IS game! And the shit is to be told not sold. You clearly need to step your street knowledge up boy. The game is what the people who have been robbing us of our culture are playing to get rich! They the ones having weakhearted illminded hard to call artists with low self esteem sell it to them. I'm glad to read that you're "just playing" it though...

STEP YOUR GAME UP KID! and maybe you'll be comfortable enough one day to let your music defend itself instead of you having to speak and cheat for it. Everything i do can hold its own. Cus on some real shit, you wouldnt even listen to your remix if you heard it on some Randam Luck album...
