we'll see what happens but i'm genuinely trying to remember when was the last time a rapper with a good indie track actually benefited from being signed to a major like this

I'm not sure Shady knows what to do with these guys, hopefully this will be mostly for promo and distribution

Here is how this went down. Action is managed by Paul Rosenberg, who heard them making noise. He brought it to Em, which is really face of the label but Paul runs everything. They brought in this because Shady hasn't had a very good track record and needs new blood and a connection to this specific demographic. Will they sell units on Interscope? Hell no. But it's great press for them. Probably a decent 6 figure advance and in 2020 they'll be off the label.

they might push out an album or two that will have ill-advised crossover attempts and/or Buddens features, which will naturally brick. or they'll just languish without an album for a while and then get pissed and split

seems more like Royce's hand in this although Rosenberg probably been keeping an eye on them through Action etc.

These guys have a niche. Can they make a mainstream hit? Who knows but the promo will be good. Conway is dope and deserves that kind of a look.

Slaughterhouse, I can understand. I feel like they should take the Joe Budden route and just let Aarabmuzik and !llmind produce for them completely for one album before they possibly split if they haven't already.
