his mixtape from last year is very promising and i've been obsessively documenting every new single he put out in the last few months via steadby. if all of them are on his next album/tape, it's gonna be great

there is a definite whiff of Ugly Mane influence (or in the very least similarity) here, but the specter of performance art is not as heavy around it

Interestingly enough, the blogs haven't picked up on this yet. I've only seen two mentions of it anywhere else aside from SteadyB, the first of which being the one that put me onto him and the other being a reblog of my own post.

I have no idea who the fuck this kid is, there's literally 0 info anywhere. I have a feeling he's Canadian (forgot why but there was a clue to this somewhere), and the odd suspicion that he vocals are pitched down because he doesn't like how his voice sounds on record. I think the nerdy white guy voice on his mixtape might actually be his unaltered voice. Wherever he's from, I think he has a decent local following there, judging by how many plays his songs get without much blog support.

discovering his project kind of hurt my soul. Id been secretly in the lab since last summer building something with a similar vision but not nearly as well crafted. It was one of those moments where I felt like a huge failure when someone actualized a similar approach that I just cant compete with but nonetheless Im a huge fan of what this guy is doing and I respect it to the fullest.

The way he created something so visual and descriptive but so, insane at the same time is pure wizardry in my book.

fairly certain we have posted most of whats known (or speculated) by way of the of the internet. Just a couple videos, scattered songs and the syrup splash tape he dropped last summer. seems like alot of people found out about him by way of that Russian Mafia beatdown video.

from what i can tell, the mixtape was dropped on new year's eve, not last summer, but whoever producing and mixing down these tracks is, they know what they're doing. on one side. i wouldn't be surprised if "Paper Platoon" was a Shawn Kemp situation. and if so, then dude is really talented.

i tried telling some other forums, but the kids didn't care.

i'm still amazed at the production, the uncommon-for-rap song structures and the fact that dude just mysteriously dropped such an ill project for free.
the four or so newer free tracks on soundcloud are just as good as the mixtape if not better.

my homeboy that thought lil ugly mane was a lame gimmick surprised me when he said he was diggin spark master.
then some people i linked it to say "i can't stand the constant screwed voice."

POW piece was indeed one, and it was inspired by Blockhead's post which was prompted by this thread. It's amusing on a slow friday at work to watch internet dominoes tip.

I like the new songs better than some of what's on the tape, albeit the best of the tape is certainly up there with them. He is definitely progressing.
