New Nas produced by DJ Premier

not exactly sure what this is - some kind of jam session project with an orchestra?

listened to the first one. it's fresh as fuck. throwaway freestyle by nas but I'd love to hear him do a real track over this beat for the new album.

what i like is this still sounds like premier's style but with a new twist. anyone who's been complaining premier does the same shit over n over should welcome this.
1. Nas
2. Drake

that's pretty much it fam.

yeah, its definitely more of a freestyle and was probably knocked up quite quickly but I think if Primo sampled the orchestra rather than them playing it live (which I assume is how it went down) it might work.

EDIT: CDQ here if anyone wants

the actual beat he's rapping over is really dope. the stuff around it is a little superfluous but that's alright. i think the live aspect of the orchestra sounds really well thought through, like he was trying to get that sound just right.

Do we have threads that detail the piecemeal development of a yet-to-exist album for artists other than Nas?

was there any suggestion this is part of an Nas album project?

anyway, to answer your question, I believe Pusha, Odd Future, Kanye and (obviously) Lloyd Banks have been subjected to this outrageous act of message board behaviour in the last year.

I didn't read the thread, tbh. And I never read threads about Pusha, Kanye, or Lloyd banks. I guess I was wrong.

i like the addendum video
it shows premier as a humble guy who seems to love music and who is eager to learn more about it.i think thatssomething to admire after all he's accomplished.

This...for the record I don't think this is great, but it is good.
