that doesn't equal arrived.
mike and i are pretty much in the same place at the moment (i'm sure you'll laugh at that notion), but i think his work ethic is going to take him pretty far soon.
I don't know where your career is at in relation to OME's. As with most posts, I'm going on pure assumption and hyperbole. You set the record straight, though.intuition wrote:Employee wrote:I figured duke was already on his way (nh).intuition wrote:

Are you still getting traction (nh) from Girls Like Me?
1. im not jealous keen is greatEmployee wrote:Didn't see that.AWAE wrote:since u put her twice i'll agree and say keen
Don't be jealous, you big-bobble headed faggot. So a girl can rap better than you. It's not time to play R.E.M. singles.
2. are we friends on myspace?
3. i don't rap
4. ok that hurt
Aren't you the dude with the cranium that looks like a globe in that iCon/Vanderslice video that is all Jigga'd out with the island and the naked, painted chicks?AWAE wrote:1. im not jealous keen is greatEmployee wrote:Didn't see that.AWAE wrote:since u put her twice i'll agree and say keen

checks are still coming in, it's still doing alright on itunes, and at least one person a day buys it on bandcamp. nothing to quit my day job over though.Employee wrote:Are you still getting traction (nh) from Girls Like Me?
records like mike's and mine are slow rollers, someone puts someone else onto them everyday long after the press stops rolling in. so there's still a little traction. but i should have a new EP out by the beginning of next year and another LP by the middle of next year, and another project with verbs sometime next year too i hope.
Nada for the rest of the year, man?intuition wrote:checks are still coming in, it's still doing alright on itunes, and at least one person a day buys it on bandcamp. nothing to quit my day job over though.Employee wrote:Are you still getting traction (nh) from Girls Like Me?

couple minutes after our exchange someone just posted this on my facebook page, kinda proving the whole "slow roller" thing.

Yeah breaking even is winning these days. Looking forward to a recharged Lee in '11.Employee wrote:Props to that shit.intuition wrote:i blew my load early.
edit: i also forgot to mention that i've recouped all personal costs on my record this year (which i funded myself)...and in this day and age that's a rarity lol.
^^^ thanks.
also major props to PF's own vinylpops, without whom i would've probably not gotten a single blog post/review/interview or anything. dude is really sharp when it comes to this blog shit and single handedly taught me to become a self-sufficient internet marketer. he's the sole reason that any of the big rap blogs have my back and will post stuff that i send.

Vinyl Pops is like NahRight for the indie rappers. I just wish he didn't Too $hort so much because he retired a few times and has had about 12 different blog names in a matter of a few years. IMO that hurt the brand but I have a feeling he doesn't give a shit about the brand. Still he has one of the few blogs I continue to check even though he posts most of that shit in his "Uploading" thread. From RH to Whiskey Teeth dude is good at blogging.

1. Will the project with VerBS be another EP or a full length album?
2. Will it include the same (type of) producers? Specifically Alpha, Dibiase and EQ?
3. If you don't mind my asking, how much did it cost to press up GLM on cd?
4. How many cds of GLM did you press up?

Between Mike Eagle, Keen, and Int at this point. Stik Figa will surprise some more of you. I know in 2011 or hopefully in the last part of 2010, he'll have some more to hit fools with.
I won't throw myself in that category until I have things completely lined up the way they need to be. Once they are, I will do the arrogant typical rapper shit and yell "we da best!!!"
But I will say that I finally aligned myself with some more folks on the indie level that I'm proud I got to meet and build with. And 2011, I'll be able to drop more shit than what I have before.......

2. Will it include the same (type of) producers? Specifically Alpha, Dibiase and EQ? definitely will include those three, hopefully many others
3. If you don't mind my asking, how much did it cost to press up GLM on cd? don't worry about it
4. How many cds of GLM did you press up? only 1,000, and it has done MUCH better digitally than physically, to the point i'm not sure if physical cds are worth it anymore on my level
Hahaha no, the link I put up there is of sum rich burb wig who's apparently a self-proclaimed protege of Chuck D. Word has it that this brat got introduced once to Chuck through the wigs daddy who happens to be someone important in the music biz.Philaflava wrote:This guy posts here? Looks like Tony Romo.

As far as the other producers for the project with VerBS, I think you would sound dope over bangers by Mike Gao, Kuest 1, and Maestroe among others. Hope ya'll keep them in mind when pickin' beats.
Also, I hope you don't phase out the physical copies for your future work, I know it isn't the most profitable but there are still heads out there who cop cds.

The Keen/Nicki Minaj collabo will probably land her on a major too.
this project you speak of is news to me that and a lil wishful thinking
perhaps
the keen and self song with adlibs from ricky ross and tip on the hook is kindqa crazy
keep it lokey though
in all seriousness though
im kinda flattered to be on that list
with mike, tui and ike, keen and the rest of the bunch
mike is kinda on or on well on his way is on mush just got off tour, icon has put out projects toured
keen has put out a full length works pretty hard... and is also an awesome rapper friend
