Atmosphere's live show

Post by Philaflava »

Many of you have said they put on a great show so this Friday I'm going to check 'em out. Normally I'd frown upon tours being mentioned in here and not Award Tour but :sluggo: is the homie who lives on here and never takes advantage of the outlet so I wanted to make the dates are known to all. Plus Blueprint is on tour with him so now you can support two :phila: members at one show.

The Ft. Lauderdale show is $17 per ticket. If anyone is going look out for rstennett and myself.

Did you mean "straggler"?
I don't know what a scraggler is.
The comment I left is an east coast way of wishing the mid-west homies the best in their journey. That's some hardcore traveling.

can someone who tours, or books tours, or just knows the deal explain why so many bands/acts skip boston and play lupo's in providence? i'm sure sage knows. yeah boston can be a pain in the ass, but there are something like 85 colleges in greater boston so it seems like it would be a must to include it on your tour.

i'll take this one since i started the thread.

i support just about anyone who supports this site. that group big quarters posted their music a few weeks ago and i added both their mp3s to the jukebox. i do the same for intuition, alaksa, ardamus, hustle crowe, godamus rhymes or anyone who asked for it.

i happen to think slug is a good dude and has done a lot to give back to this place. i also happen to think 'when life gives you lemons' is one of the best albums of the year and i'm looking forward to seeing them perform since i've always heard good things.

sean isn't a guy who spams these forums like other artists. he never really does a lot of self-promotion so because of that i wanted to do it on his behalf and let peeps be aware of these tour dates. if that's dick riding after all the reasons i stated above, so be it. i guess i dick rick roy johnson, magento, b. ware, drizzle, jaz, popabitch, random sample and thun for all their dope work on this site too.

but to say atmosphere is like all the other pastoids rappers that get shitted on is crazy. besides the new target of the month doesn't even rap like slug, he raps like a down syndrome big pun. clearly there is talent there that you aren't aware of.

i actually really hated atmosphere until a friend of mine tricked me into going to a show a few years back. common grounds (the smallest of small venues), gainesville, circa 2002 (?).

ive been like :swoon: ever since then. needless to say, it was a GREAT show.

but while they always put on a good show, but i would much prefer the smaller bars/clubs of yesteryear than the bigger venues they play here in nyc.

fair enough @ pf

i dont think slug makes good music for the most part. but i think it was kinda funny in that 15 things that need to disappear from hiphop list, hipsters was one of them, and pretty much all of their fans are

yo slug/sean, what was up with that little gay wrestling video u did with quest of ughh?

times change, generalizations change, but atmosphere's fanbase is definitely not what i would consider "hipster" at all.

i dont use the word emo, its stupid. is 2pac emo? budden? face? prodigy? they all make/have made depressing songs

as far as atmosphere's fanbase, they are pretty much hipsters and indie rock kids, lets be serious

like i said, i was at a show thursday and lots of the kids looked like they grew up in palm desert and shopped at pac sun. that combination does not a hipster make.

"hipster" gets thrown around too often by people who don't know what a hipster is.

that list just like most of my lists are just goofs. i can't stand those hipsters and i'd imagine most of the people i'll see at fridays show i'll never encounter again but it doesn't mean thats how i feel about the artists they're seeing. most hipsters are democrats but i'm voting obama.

hipsters hate atmosphere actually.
hipsters call us eeem.
nowadays the hipsters prefer gza, freeway, cool kids, santogold, and devotchka (i like those artists. well, santogold doesn't do much for me, but i don't hate on her).

your screen name is suspect in accordance with your statements.

as for you not liking my music, no worries. art is subjective.
and we have both proved that we don't need each other.

but i get a close look at my audience 150 nights a year.

i wouldn't say they are coming from the pibber-hipster crowd.
maybe during godlovesugly/seven's travels era yes.
but them cats left when they found the next cool thing.
not a lot of tight jeans at the shows no mo.

i'd say that 10 percent are older cats that liked rap in the early 90's, but left during the diddy era, and came back around in 04.

another 10 percent are post-pop-punk-warped tour kids.

another 40 percent are women between the ages of 16-26.
many wear heels.

another 20 percent are dudes who came to hollar at those women.

and the last 20 percent are sublime fans.
i don't know or care how it happened.

i love them all as if they were my own.

keep heckling from the bleachers.
it gives you an identity.
