dont know jay electronica or termanology.

saigon - ive only heard a few songs from him. he has moments where he is really good but more than anything he is just a part of the mixtape rapper crop that came after 50 and none of them did a thing.

joell ortiz - same thing i have only seen a few of his videos. some songs are good some are ehh. probably would have been a lot better off if he came out in 1996. his sound, to me is just kinda that old ny underground sound that rawkus was about, i would rather hear mike zoot

Ill Bill - i was never a huge ill bill or non phixion fan. it was just never my thing. I did really like the song he did with el, the god is an athiest song from back in the day. that shit was really fresh. he has obvious skills but it just doesnt do anything for me. i feel like that time period is over.

sean price - i wanted to like him more than i actually do. i was a huge sean price fan during helter skelters reign and with the fab 5. so the way people were talking about him i thought i would really dig his new stuff. but i dont.

Vordul - vordul has some issues that he has to take care of that are a lot more important than his rapping. I dont really want to rehash them or talk about them here because they are private, for him and his family, but im with you i would like to hear a lot of vordul stuff as well.

Double AB - is a cat that also went to suny new paltz. wind started at new paltz after i graduated and he met AB who started new paltz around the same time. AB is a good fun mc, has a lot of good punchlines, can freestyle really well. i think he got caught of caught up in the uptown camron style of sound back in the early 2000s and lost a little of his originiality. I know he has a few mixtapes out, but i havent heard much since the days of new paltz. i think he is running with vast and those guys lately.

Immortal Access - i think is a member of stronghold but im not really familiar with anyone in strongholds work outside of breez, lifelong, rayz or poison pen.

Cage - I first heard cage back in like 94 on stretch and bob, thought he was amazing. Loved the early works like agent orange, radiohead, suicidal failure. there was a period that i stopped really checking for cage, i felt that it had become a bit uninspired. Mike - Im not really familiar with mike's work. it was always a little too abstract for me to sit and listen too, but i do love his live shows. I think mike is a professor in france or some shit. dude is insanely smart

short little mike ladd related side story - when i was in high school there was this dude named vic barocas that used to sit behind me in homeroom. vic was pretty much the prototypical stoner/metal head stereotype, he was jeff spicoli if jeff spicoli wanted to play drums for the rest of his life. After 10th grade i dont remember seeing vic around much, i dont know if he dropped out, got his ged, got expelled or what, but flash forward 10 years and i am grabbing a bite to eat with mike before a show at northsix and we are talking about his band. lo and behold he drops vic's name. vic was the drummer in mikes band, he is the drummer in my friend kareems band, pretty much everyone i know, knows vic and i still have not seen the elusive vic barocas. hopefully i will see him this thursday....anyway that story probably wasnt so great unless were in my 10th grade homeroom

i dont. maybe ebay. I dont even own any of the old atoms stuff anymore. i might have a centa of the web record at my parents house, but if i do i already promised it to nobs. i think cryptic might be working with a friend of ours to get the old atoms stuff up on his online store. i will keep you posted.

Kool G. Rap - is a legend, i would say he is one of the stylistic originators of the style i rap with. I think he has gotten a little derivative of himself as he got older but who doesnt. His early work is so fucking good that there is no way it could have blown up, he was sadly way to ahead of his time. but he is definitely one of the most important mcs ever.

Quazimoto - is that madlib? i hate that shit.

Asheru - not familiar with.

Blu - havent checked yet but he is on my list of people to check. i have read a lot of good things about that record.

Slick Rick - in my previously mentioned top three of all time. he has everything you can want from a rapper and still kills it anytime you hear him, and is pretty much the only veteran who does. he still sounds fresh to this day. amazing story teller, insane lyricist, amazing flows, styles upon styles, best jewels, eyepatch. whats not to love. plus to this day nobody has ever come close to the way he multitracks his vocals. dude is the best. i would sacrifice one of my balls to rhyme as good as slick rick.

If you count the "Unseen" LP, plus all of the b-sides, remixes, appearances, and unreleased shit, there are close to 40 classic Quasimoto tracks that were made between the years of 1997 and 2000.

I'd ordinarily say that you just can't trust a guy who would sleep on such obvious classics, but realistically, it's an acquired taste. I could never blame anyone for dismissing it after a few listens.

Zev Love X - loved the first kmd record and his work on the gas face. Great flow and style. His voice got better as he got older and became doom. Mr. Hood is a classic as far as im concerned. i never listened to black bastard because by the time it came out it just sounded old to me. Smooth B - i never liked smooth b, i feel like he fucked up dwyck. I saw him back in like 98 at the mcdonalds across the street from fat beats, he looked cracked out and looked in the garbage can, maybe he threw away his retainer but im thinking he was looking for a nugget.

Phife Dawg - is one of the mcs that did the most with the least. his work on low end and midnight are tremendous even though technically he kinda sucks.
