This is real good.
Dre raps really well on here.. you can def tell that kendrick wrote everything.. dope song.. Scoop Deville is kid frost's son.. thats cray..
Dre is really good at mimicking and improving on somebody's reference vocal track.

song is great, and the most vital Dre has sounded in years. He needs to cut 50, eminem, game, ti, snoop, and other 35+ rappers out of his creative circle.

yeah, I think he's probably equally good at mimicking and improving on other people's beats - those two skills are what got him where he is.

Ab-Soul's never done much for me, but the video for that song is one of the best of the year...easily the best song I've heard from him-

Pineal Gland is dope but kinda treading into Q's territory. My favorite joints by Ab are Bankrupt and Drift Away at the moment.

absoul ft kendrick - illuminate

http://snd.sc/ISp9GD

i feel like ab soul's album will be very dope and might top section 80 (simply because it probably wont be weight down by overly earnest hooks) but i'm not sure if it will top q's

streaming the whole thing is a good look on their part

it's a good album, especially the begginning and middle. gets a little long toward the end

I like Ab a lot more when there are other rappers on the track with him. His voice is a little too grating to me when it's all I hear vocally for too long.

Ab-Soul's not a great rapper, but the album's solid. A lot of concept/topical songs and strong production (which is becoming a trademark of Black Hippy). Q and Ab-Soul really seem to maximize their talent. Kendrick is still the best MC to me, but he makes some questionable artistic decisions (J Cole collab is a prime example).

i was about to agree but then realized that i like track two and pineal gland as much as any of the tracks with features. but having danny, kendrik and q show up in the first 2/3s is def part of the reason why i feel the album is frontloaded

There are definitely exceptions. And his voice works better with certain beats.

the original is so good and this is so awful

everything about it, from what he did to the song to dropping a shitty techo faux-bootleg via rolling stone is :puke:
