I'm gonna go with the write in vote and say Spice 1. I don't have any proof to refute his claims, but I remember that it was said he was a studio gangster.

As for snoop, he may be pussy, but he had a man killed. Thats gotta be a point or two in his favour

Even tho copywrite isn't a true gangster and probably doesn't claim to be one he should still be up there for tryna act hard but ending up getting punked and ridiculed by the entire world, not once but TWICE. Two of underground hip hop's greatest moments.

Another one is the retirement of Seagraves.

Voted Game because it's wildly apparent all of his gangster cred came from his brother. Ja Rule is a close second but when you're cosigned by the kind of people he runs with, it at least makes for an interesting story.

nas is a gangster rapper?? :killacam:

i'm also not buying that ja rule shit. evidence points to the inc being connected in these streets and gunit being the wankstas...not vice versa.

points to supreme and how irv sucked him off. ja rule ain't gangsta, his label is funded by gangstas.

yea...but if you break bread, associate and conspire with gangsters, you're one step closer. plus the whole stabbing incident too (although not ja).
50 cent on the other hand is all about the police protection.

There's no evidence to 50 or Yayo or Buck being wankstas. Like I said, everyone who's ever beefed with him, who knows him, say he got bussy for real in the street.

Yayo's always been thorough as fuck in the streets too. Ask Saigon.

Ja Rule is a bitch, but Murda Inc is funded by some of the realest gangstas, so of course he looks like he's thorough. He's not known in any hood by anybody for doing nothing. 50 has jail records, has people co-signing he used to knock niiggas out, sold crack etc...He just roles with security now. He'd be stupid as fuck not to. John Gotti had security too. You being gangsta and having security has no correlation. It just means you're smart enough to know that bullets don't check your street cred before it enters your body. It'll just blow your head off your shoulders if you're not protected.

I know it's the in thing to diss 50 and all that, but dude's track record is well known. Nobody in Queens would front on his street cred. Not rap street cred either.

Jadakiss is an interesting case. Cause as far as rap he has a lot of street cred. But he's done nothing of what he raps.

hilarious
comments now in BOLD

that's what I say... 50 Cent isn't fake, even if he's the new Ja Rule of rap now (in a way). He's just really greedy, and thinks that he needs to sing on all his hooks to get the female market too, cause G Unit has all the thugs of America trying to be the next them.... (got that?) :ironmike:

and Jadakiss, as a hustler, and as a rapper, has always been overrated to me. If he didn't have his Biggie affiliation, he'd almost be just another New York rapper.

The Game is the fakest gangsta on here. He sets up incidents, he fabricates and exaggerates, he fronts and he steals real hood fame. At least Prodigy has probably done a bit of crime to go along with his sonnings.

Ghetto Qu'ran track is where it really stems from. Him being shot and that song seem to have a correlation. But like I said, if 50's a snitch then so is Nas, cause Nas was the first rapper mentioning Queens street figures in his rhymes like "The Supreme Team" and Pappy Mason back in 1993-1994.

And of course Styles P mentioning :

"The streets say 50, who shot ya
He named three niggas soon as he came out the doctor"

which is a response to the rhyme in the 50 Cent song "Fuck You" where 50 writes

"Get back to questions, like "50, who shot ya?...
You think it was Preme, Freeze or Tah, Tah?"
Nigga, street shit should stay in the street
So, keep it on the low
But everybody who's somebody already know"
"I spit that thug shit nigga, MOTHERFUCK singing"

Well, in the streets it is.

In the streets of NY (and much of the East Coast), if someone tries to kill you there are only two courses of acceptable action:

1.) Find the mother-fucker who did it and kill them.

2.) Move away (like G. Rap did, LoL).

These are considered better than snitching for the following reasons:

1.) It gives police a reason to harass innocent blacks.

2.) Police are out to hurt/kill/destroy blacks so running to them for help is a contradiction.

3.) Going to the police will only get more of your family members hurt.

4.) Unless you're the victim of a random crime, if you get shot there is a reason for it. If the poice find out that reason, you can go to jail to.

I don't see what's so hard to understand about this. Police are powerless in many parts of NYC. There is nothing good that can come from their presence in places likes Browsville or Queensbridge. It's not like they want to clean up those streets anyway. It's just an invitation to get people's balls busted.

Seriously, soon people are going to start being called snitches for calling the fire department on a burning building or something

the man has a point
but still... let's try and come up with another term for it... cause 'snitching' to try and save your life (if you have no other options) isn't that weak.

but 50 Cent also had some sort of death wish, or at least death tease, after he got shot. He obviously was on some "every day I'm alive is a bonus cause I'm supposed to be dead from 9 gun shots" shit, so of course he's going to spit every verse like its his last, and "keep it real", and put his truth on wax... even if Murda Inc. calls him "Five-O" and 'Preme feels 50 is snitching

You right bout Jada. He's so simplistic it makes me think how this nigga go platinum or is considered a complex lyricist by peeps.

The Game then moved some weight and done dirt. I know you hated him or was fixated(let's be real here Mindbender) but he not the FAKEST gangsta out there.

But Big L wasn't a gangster rapper he was a regular rapper who spit hardcore rhymes. His street-cred was never a part of his schtick.

for the record:

Hardcore raps > Gangsta Raps
