First that came to mind was "Lil' Ghetto Boy" by Dre and Snoop, the live flute arrangements on that are like magic to my ears.
"Caught Up In The Game" by The Bushwackass featuring the magic of Hubert Laws on flute, only a few notes of sample but the way Buckwild crafted the mood for the introspective lyrics makes the song a memorable one about NYC street life.
"Magic Chef" by Rawcotiks, another cool one about street life by some dudes from my hood
I love "Kool" by Large Professor & "What A Way To Go Out" by Souls Of Mischief which both flip the flute of the same Jazz artist David Newman
This thread crashed my browser, but thanks for droppin them videos nevertheless

Forgot "Bad Intentions". Always found "Just A Lil Bit" annoying.
Forgotten gem from Snoop and Jay
J-Zone had a few I think

Yes, "Ultimate High" is Top 5.
Re: best all time flute/flute sample use in hip hop
he fell off but that day to god is 1000 years song has the best flute usage. but of the original post it's either big pimping or watch out now
Re: best all time flute/flute sample use in hip hop
thread is full of dope tracks. good work.
like previously mentioned by someone else, the first song that came to my mind was little ghetto boy off chronic.

Re: best all time flute/flute sample use in hip hop
here's something RARE that this thread made me think about.
LISTEN --> https://clyp.it/pdkht1jn" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
^this is the intro track (an instrumental beat, i have no idea who produced it, never heard it used on anything else)
that was on the original leaked version of Young Jeezy's "Let's Get It (Thug Motivation 101)" from back in 2005.
the track listing of that version

lots of tracks moved around ("Air Forces" was the first song, track #2, but on the retail version ended up as a "bonus track" at the back of the album")
okay, so all except for two songs on the retail are on this leaked version, but most of them have different names.
oddly enough, though, the song "let's get it" on the promo is a different song from "let's get it / sky's the limit" on the retail.
and "motivation" on the promo is totally different song from the retail song "thug motivation 101".
i don't think those two songs ever got released.
but, "Let's Get It" has #flute status.
LISTEN --> https://clyp.it/1xkky1f1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(you can find this album on slsk as "The Snowman", but it really was originally TM101, since over 90% of that album is the same.)
