This was me and Tupac's first conversation. This was October 18th 1995. i had just gotten out of Pelican a month before, and Pac had been out a couple of days. We did not know We were being recorded. My wife pressed record on the answering machine and unbeknown to either of us, caught some bomb ass history. Ya'll enjoy this, and check out Pac and how positive he was. This is Classic shit. It's Shakur thang.

What is the correlation to the murders? All I know is this dude is a crip, right? Need back story to make me wanna listen to 22 minutes of Pac slobbing this dudes nuts.
Re: Monster Kody and Tupac's unreleased Phone Convo
you should read his book (MONSTER), it's a classic
i listened to the interview yesterday. some interesting gems in there
monster kody said his book was optioned for a movie & antoine fuqua was signed on to direct. would've been his first theatrical release & they were talking about casting pac in the titular role

Re: Monster Kody and Tupac's unreleased Phone Convo
but what makes this audio so special? because its a high ranking crip talking to 2pac? i mean, why should anyone care? they putting this message to a beat and making another 2pac album?
Re: Monster Kody and Tupac's unreleased Phone Convo
it's an unreleased interview/conversation with one of the greatest rappers of all-time during a pivotal moment in his career (right after he signed to death row) when he was in the midst of recording his some of the best music he ever made

this ranks one place above that leaked mp3 of 2Pac mumbling a version of 'Toms Diner' to himself while he was taking a dump.

...as that ^^^ exact same person talks to one of the most feared and powerful American gangbangers in history, an O.G. member of the Eight Trey Gangster Crips of Los Angeles, after HE has sworn off his criminal ways and started to use his unprecedented power and underworld influence for the good of the ghetto instead of perpetuating the destruction of the Black community.
Motherfuckers are FAR BEYOND IGNORANT to question the importance of this phone call. I listened to it all, and was blessed and honored beyond words to be able to hear these kings share ideas. They are still relevant to this fucking day. Someone needs to do this "criminal activity is illegal until 11 PM" idea in Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit and other fucked up cities.
What would be some sort of European equivalent of this? I'm gonna say: Eminem having a conversation with Charles Manson (if Manson reformed in prison). Or another modern parallel maybe Drake talking to Mumia Abu Jamal. (even though Drake and Eminem aren't the political thinkers/strategists that Tupac obviously was)
NOT a small moment to take for granted. You guys should not take pride in your disrespectful ignorance of eternally relevant history attempting to manifest universal justice.
Tupac Shakur's old phone conversations from over 15 years ago are more relevant and truthful to bringing peace and power to Black people across America than MOST motherfuckers entire lives are, right now.
I read 'MONSTER: the Autobiography of an L.A. Gangbanger ~ Sanyika Shakur' in my teens and never forgot how fucking powerful it was. Y'all should read that. Peace to Ackbar.
If you have any respect for Black history, you wouldn't talk ignorant disrespectful shit about either one of these immortal Americanized African kings.

I sat up once he used the term "precarious position". Like damn, this nigga can read & write.
"War Stories" documentary on youtube is powerful.

Re: Monster Kody and Tupac's unreleased Phone Convo
and i'd rather listen to this informal conversation than an unreleased interview with cuban linx era raewkon, illmatic era nas or whoever else might excite people more.. because 2pac is an infinitely more interesting person to listen to speak
they have a conversation here about creating a foundation that organizes community events in inner cities across america. that once rappers have a certain amount of money, power & influence they are obliged to give back to their communities and there should be organized sport teams and concerts that the artists pay for. that they should use their influence to sit down with gang members & ask for permission & cease fire during these events. that they need to work with the local communities and churches as well and mobilize the people to vote for their own interests
not that his ideas are entirely unique but that kind of ambition is part of what made 2Pac

you mean his fabricated rape trial including the government informant Haitian Jack and the girl who's rape story actually had Tupac's associates as the guilty party while Tupac was sleeping in the next room?
that rape case?
fuck you idiots, knowing nothing and slandering the name of a man who spoke and stood up for justice and truth in one month of his short life than some people will do in 50 years
Tupac didn't rape anybody. The justice system raped Tupac.
fuck you for pretending you're a hip hop head, but you go around spouting bullshit like this, and disrespecting one of rap's greatest revolutionaries

as rappers go tupac is important. to the music & to society in general. hip hop heads like the guys on this site will hesitate to give him props for fear of looking like noobs. look he's not MLK but he made important music, died for it, and his esteem will only grow with time. RIP (and dope insight provided by this phone call)

Can't believe anyone actually caught feelings over the "rapist"comment.
Especially on this site in 2014.
I like a lot of Pac's music.
@ Mindbender considering him a "political strategist" though.

Listen: OJ Simpson was a murderer. He got away with killing Nicole. Racial injustice in America is so fucking horrible, that at the time, a lot of Black people were like "YAY!" because well, at least once the system didn't put someone in jail, and also, even if people thought he was guilty at the time, at least one of US finally used the system to get away with murder, like SO MANY FUCKING WHITE PEOPLE HAVE IN THE PAST. It's UGLY, but it's fucking REAL.step one wrote:Can't believe anyone actually caught feelings over the "rapist"comment.

The difference is: anyone who fucking cares about THE TRUTH will eventually fucking discover how much god damn corruption and injustice was involved in sending Tupac Shakur to Dannemora, and how fucking EVIL the judge and the whole justice system was towards Tupac. They gave him the MAXIMUM sentence, they didn't give ANY of his associates ANY jail time, and THEY WERE THE ONES WHO FUCKING RAPED AYANNA JACKSON. Tupac was asleep in the next room.
To be accused of rape and to have NOT DONE IT is probably the worst thing in this world, except being accused of pedophilia/murder and not done it. I can't imagine a harder fucking stigma to shake, and I was STILL LISTENING TO HIP HOP in 1993 when Pac was accused of this shit. And it was because society vilified rappers as all misogynistic savages that people didn't even question Tupac. He was guilty before proven innocent.
Mystikal sexually assaulted that woman. Big Pun domestically abused his wife. But Tupac Shakur DID NOT SEXUALLY ASSAULT ANYONE.
And I'll defend his name until my fucking dying breath. Tupac never raped anyone. Fuck anyone who thinks so. Don't believe the hype.

Re: Monster Kody and Tupac's unreleased Phone Convo
from everything i've read, i would guess 2pac didn't participate in the rape but also allowed it to happen.
who really knows
2pac's goal was to reach the people who were not being reached by "legitimate" politicians. no one is mistaking him for barack obama. he let his thug mentality get in the way, but he was also very young & i'm sure he would've matured & done a lot more as he aged
