Indeed. Face announced it as being entirely produced by Kanye West then too, which at the time would have been entirely possible.

If beans could ever get on the level of b.coming again id be stoked.

He can always muster up some street tales that are believable given his track record.

the one thing that makes me  about the title of that album is that it reminds me of one of Saafir's punchlines in that Hobo/Hiero battle. something like "you go surfin with Todd and Brad/say oooh, thats rad".

They can both still rap well so it could still be pretty good but during the Roc's production golden era with Just, Kanye, Bink! along with Mike Dean & (maybe) the Neptunes this would've been amazing. Pity no one ever followed through on supergroups back then.

This is a good opportunity to make a case for Bink! being a better producer than Just Blaze, who has as many atrocious squawking haymakers under his belt as he does undeniable smashes, whereas Bink! pretty much kept it 100 most of his career. Just having more beats out there doesn't skew this that much since he was capable of plenty of them off-key messes even during his prime.

This was partially motivated by me just liking to type "Bink!" tbh.

they could both still spit. this is the perfect format for beanie imo. he comes in with nice verses but lacks direction on his own projects. brad will remedy that.

My predictions for "Mac & Brad":

1. The beats will be all made by horrible, Soundclick producers. Someone above me suggest Scarface could hit up Kanye for beats??? Are you serious? Scarface hasn't been down with anyone important in nearly a decade. I love Face, but I'm stating facts. His last three solo albums have been over GARBAGE beats. Fake, wannabe, Southern beats, that Face didn't even bother having mixed.

2. In typical Scarface fashion, he will let one of his homie's cousins rap on every other song on the album.

3. Beanie and Scarface will both try to start new labels with this project. The inside of the CD cover will be 5 covers of upcoming albums (all of which, will never come out, and were conceived during a weed session with Face and Beanie).

4. They will EMAIL the entire project back and forth to each other.

5. This album will never come out.

6. This album will never even be made.

7. Mind Bender, Jay and Kanye left the country to work intensely on Watch the Throne. They conceptualized huge aesthetic concepts, spent incredible money on promotion, videos, and had an insanely ahead of the curve marketing plan, where nothing was released in retail until it had been out digitally. You mean to tell me Scarface and Beanie Sigel, in 2012, can make an album even 1/10th of that caliber? Do you just blindly hate Jay-Z because you cannot even fathom the meteoric size his career has over your biggest dreams?

Sorry, I want this album to come out, and be everything our minds think it should be. And perhaps could be. But we all know exactly what the fuck this album is going to sound like, don't we?

Bido, Mike Dean & N.O. Joe mixed & engineered Face's last 3 albums. The same dudes hes always used.

Not including intros:
Emeritus - 5 of the 12 songs produced or co-produced by Mike Dean and N.O. Joe.

Made - 12 of the 14 songs produced or co-produced by Mike Dean, N.O. Joe and Bido.

Most of the ones that aren't by them are produced by not very "fake, wannabe, southern" type dudes like Jake One, Green Lantern, Nottz, Sha Money XL & Illmind.

Mike Dean & Drumma Boy would be considered "important" by a lot of people.

I predict you'l be seriously injured falling off your electric bike within the next year.

Mike Dean should probably be considered as the most important producer and engineer right now. Too bad he only has time for Kanye these days.

I agree with most of this post but there's no reason to single out Face's production, when what you said applies better to Beanie.

I'd rather have a new Scarface album, actually. Sigel is boring and hasn't made a good song in years.
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Mindbender had nothing to do with the creation of Watch the Throne.

^^^LOL that's how i read it too

watch the throne is super polished. now i'm not holding my breath but a successful mac & brad collabo would sound nothing like watch the throne and would likely not benefit from grand aesthetic concepts.

bro... Jay-Z and Kanye DID go to France... to cook up the most mediocre, overhyped piece of music of BOTH of their careers. I own an original pressing of 'Reasonable Doubt' on CD, from 1996. Blindly hate Jay-Z? :naswtf: You couldn't be more wrong. And I love Kanye West too. Like CRAY.

I love Jay, but I won't dickride him when he's rapping as lazy as he was on half of 'Watch The Throne'. He is supposed to be murking Kanye on the mic every time if he's really the best rapper alive, and Kanye is supposed to be the comic foil, the wild card, even the Phife to Jay-Z's Q-Tip. But Kanye actually out-rapped Jay-Z many times on that album. On 'That's My Bitch', Yeezy steals the fucking rug under Hova's Timbs (sorry, he's off that, no Drizzy).
Kanye's beat for 'Otis' isn't that fuckin great. Half the pleasure people take in it comes from the obvious samplerizing (work with me, LOL) of a WELL known classic Otis Redding tune. The beat for 'Otis' is technically fucking boring as shit except for the snareplay around the "sweet" part, and doesn't evolve past its bridge loop. Lazy Kanye production. There is nothing near 'We Major' or 'I Wonder' or even 'Jesus Walks' level, except for 'Murder to Excellence', which they failed to do a video for, or even perform on the WTT tour (maybe cause Jay-Z said some real stupid shit about Fred Hampton on it, but still.) That's the album's best song, and more than 50% of "Watch the Throne" isn't on the level of that song.

The marketing wasn't THAT remarkable. They just kept the anticipation buzzing until the last possible second. No street singles, no ads, nothing but raw human anticipation. Duhhh, it's Jay-Z and Kanye, 2 of the 3 biggest stars in rap/pop music, releasing a collaboration album in the middle of the summer in 2011. NO SHIT ITS GONNA MOVE UNITS LIKE FREE CRACK.

that doesn't mean it's great. we all know that it was MEDIOCRE. It wasn't a flop, but it wasn't a classic, at ALL. There were only TWO singles, and they didn't release the video for the MOST OVERHYPED SONG OF 2011 aka "N!ggas in Paris" until the world tour was done. That song is fun to me and I like the Illuminati-sponsored video, LOL... but that song was FORCED to its heights, it wasn't that great, and FAR from being worth being played 6 times in a row at the show. I was there. Twice.

Kanye and Jay-Z both have ALBUMS full of material better than their creations on 'Watch the Throne'. Which is why I'm happy they are talking about making another Watch the Throne album, cause the first one isn't THE ONE AND ONLY DEFINITIVE MASTERPIECE. Lord no.

That being said: Scarface at his laziest is still better than Jay-Z has been lately, and Beanie Sigel is, rhyme for rhyme, the BEST -actual- gangsta rapper in America to me. Except for Kool G Rap. 'Mac and Brad' has great potential to be a masterpiece, they both have made dozens of amazing songs. And at this point in the game, the OG advice they could put in their music, plus Scarface's knowledge of live instruments and Beanie Sigel's desire to get back in the game wherever he can fit in are the ingredients to a potentially classic piece of rap music. I got my money on them really trying to give Jay-Z and Kanye a run for their money, and a moment where all of hip hop argues about what album is better, WTT or MAB.

I imagine Beanie Sigel is hungry as FUCK right now, and he's not holding on to his post-Roc grudge anymore. He knows that making songs everyone loves is the only redemption from his Jay-Z-blessed Paradise exile. And Scarface ain't going out like a chump, neither.

All that matters is the production. If Beans and Face get huge, awesome beats, then it's a wrap. I expect greatness.
