Album sequencing makes this thing feel like 2 different albums in one. Punchline Lolz throughout the whole thing, really think the second half of this thing is stellar, really like the production throughout.
Emp is in rare (normal form right now on twitter trolling anyone giving this album props. I don't even know if he really dislikes D.B. or if he's just in a mood.
i think at times he tries a little too hard to be out there and the album suffers for it
agree that it feels split, with darker more serious content bunched in toward the end. hybrid did have teh same structure but there I enjoyed the first half more. here i prefer the back end
first half of hybrid was more entertaining that the first half here, and the second half of hybrid was way more of a downer than the second half here
I appriciate the font reference to Jackie Brown. And also the allusions to bitches doing hard drugs. This album is ill. Played it all day while driving faggot soldiers around in Fort Sam in San Antonio. They could not handle the hoodness of it. They kept requesting Wiz Khalifa on the ipod. I just turned it up. Fuck San Antonio. I got to move back to Detroit.

Yeah, just wanted to reiterate. Incredible album. Listened to it a few times today and it gets better with each spin. The copper scrapping track is a great storytelling joint.
COOLEHMAGAZINE wrote:1/3 of this sucks. The rest is great. Original, kinda daring, the scrap metal song works on a lot of levels.
Agreed, also liking the scrap or die track due to brown reworking a young jeezy hook. especially since i know some danny brown fans that hate whin i play jeezy.
There's a sort of dichotomy throughout the entire record, looking at shit from opposite perspectives and what not. It stands out more in some places than others.
EWNESW vs. Fields
XXX vs. 30
All the party songs before DNA, Nosebleeds and Party All The Time
I could do without some of the Wakkaish joints, but they play along with that concept in a sense.
30, XXX, Die Like a Rockstar, Adderall Admiral, DNA, Nosebleeds, Fields and Scrap or Die are all sick. 30 is another contender for song of the year, matter of fact.
Compared to The Hybird, I'd say this has higher highs and lower lows.

On the real tho "The Hybrid" is waaay more accesible for the average Hip-Hop fan, while "XXX" takes it a step further. The Beginning is terrific, the End is dope as well. The middle is where I lost interest.
Was DB popping shots at Wiz Khalifa on "Radio Song"? also I'd love to Hear Danny over some Odd Future production, preferably Leftbrain.
I'm liking a lot of this album. I can't say yet if anything here can fuck with the high parts of the Hybrid though, for me at least. But I still need to listen a bunch more times. [which again makes me question how these blogger dudes can drop reviews of albums the day after they drop(barring month old leaks and such) and keep readers who trust their opinions]
Did anyone here get the bonuses from Hybrid? I had no idea about this until now, so yeah
