Mindbender's M2C Jupiter Zone: Screwface Capitalism

Post by Mindbender Futurama »

peace to J. Gloss, the J. Prince of this net shit, aiight?
now: let's try to evolve, mmmkay kittens? this is a Mindbender M2C thread.

if you're a die-hard hip hop head looking for new info, new music, or new thoughts on hip hop, you will succeed when you visit here.
if you're some new jack Stanboy (or irrelevant veteran) trying to get 5 minutes of fame in here by hating on the Futurama, you will F.A.I.L.

past, present and future are all the same here, as is good and evil.
there's only two things in existence: great shit and wack shit.

this thread will be full of great shit, courtesy of Mindbender Inc and all the great people he has met at Philaflava.

:ignore:
love,
YOTMB

I'ma start this off with one of my favorite Eminem songs. This was on a tape that the original Ken Kaniff gave to me when we were driving around L.A. with Styles of Beyond. I wish Marshall was on this shit:

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Nb3hjBEgprA&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Nb3hjBEgprA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

if Eminem never does drugs again, he might never be dope again, no pun intended :owens:

...and then Diddy got on his Mindbender bullshit:

<object width="400" height="265"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id= ... llscreen=1" /><embed src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id= ... llscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="400" height="265"></embed></object>

Mindbender loves you all
first Talib Kweli, now Diddy.
rap is outta control

Drake. And the fact that SBU/Nextra were the original rap martians before Lil Wayne, LOL
'Jupiter' is kind of a metaphor for Canada too.

I will explain fully when the album drops.

July 15th.

this is interesting:

Former drug kingpin Freeway Ricky Ross has officially filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against rappers Jay-Z and Rick Ross.
Click here to find out more!

Paperwork shows that Freeway is also attempting to block Ross' upcoming Teflon Don album release.

Freeway Ricky's attorney Melvin Sharpe Jr., ESQ., filed a trademark infringement lawsuit on Friday (June 18th) in U.S. District Court, Central District of California. Judge Percy Anderson will issue summonses to Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter and rapper Rick Ross who could both be called to testify during the discovery process. Jay-Z is named in the lawsuit because he signed Ross to Island Def Jam in 2006, while he was President of the legendary label, which Ross still calls home. On Friday, lawyers for Freeway Ricky filed paperwork seeking a temporary restraining order for preliminary and permanent injunction relief, to officially block the release of Ross' upcoming album Teflon Don. (All Hip Hop)

Last month, Freeway justified his decision to handle the situation in a legal manner.

"I just want my name back," Rick told XXL. "I don't want to have to be 'the real Rick Ross.' When I go places I have to explain to people that I am the real one because Def Jam has put him on TV and now people recognize him. It causes a conflict." Although he hasn't made up his mind about whether he wants complete rights over the use of the name or just damages, he maintains that the suit is not personal. "It ain't even really against William Roberts you know what I'm saying?" Ross added. "It's really against Def Jam because they making all this money off of my name and you know those guys didn't even reach out and said hello to me since I been home."

I'ma have to get back to you on that top 10 List.

Who would I put on 'Jupiter' if I could only put on one rapper? Jay Electronica. He's the only dude who believes the crazy shit I do :ignore:

and I would put Saukrates on the chorus. Gotta have some Cancon :ohcanada: (that's Canadian Content to you Yanks  )

noe wai, yow.

Nasty Nasir Olu Dara Jones is more important than damn near every one because he continues to teach. Maybe Nas isn't that relevant in America cause the masses want easy listening ghetto muzak. But Nas is a global rap icon.

T.I. and Lil Wayne both said they are going to retire before 40 and 35, respectively. Why? Cause they rap about like 4 subjects combined, and have nothing left to say anymore.

Nas just made an album that has never been done in 35 years of hip hop history with 'Distant Relatives'. Also, the 'Nigger' album is a revolutionary record, conceptually.

And it's conceptually where Nas stays light years ahead of everyone.
-Stillmatic
-God's Son
-Hip Hop Is Dead
-Nigger
-Distant Relatives

all 5 entirely different albums. you don't gotta like them, but you damn sure should respect them :ironmike:

I know where you are coming from when you say boring (not that i agree), but maybe its because he's not rapping about stuff you are interested in.

Do you like this Nas song? shit is ILL (word to Matic)

Bender,

Given your own music, and how you tend to describe your tastes, why are you always posting music and/or talking about artists that are just boring as dicks and totally suck like Lloyd Banks and why don't you focus more energy on artists like Open Mike Eagle who actually are pushing boundaries and don't suck?

The concepts overshadow the actual music, which in the case of 'Nigger' is generally dire.
The phrase/idea behind 'Hip Hop Is Dead' is remembered more than any song on it (not that the album didnt have some good tracks but its far from classic)

I like them both. You act like I don't love El-P's kind of music as much as I love Crooked I's. That's kinda crazy talk.

Anyone can come up with a line worth listening to. 50 Cent's song 'Tia Told Me' is awesome. But so is Jay Electronica.

And an argument comes to mind I had at El-P's where he was talking about how Jay-Z killed Nas, and I was disagreeing, ha. Diddy is probably fascinated insanely by Jay Electronica. And many of the creative artists I know love when they can just dumb out to some raw shit.

also the streets talk to the masses right now more than the creative minds, and I care most about what the PEOPLE are listening to, and why.

"if skills, sold truth be told/ I'd probably be lyrically Talib Kweli"

this is why I listen to Jay-Z. until the day this reality changes, I learn why 8 million people can buy 'Speakerboxxx' but not 'Eardrum'.
I'm a student of this shit.

nobody totally sucks dick. LOTS of people know how to rap pretty fucking good now. every single MC has had one line or one moment worth learning from, or even a beat of theirs that's worth knowing about. all of them. it's arrogant and lazy, at best, think otherwise.

I don't just say 'Fuck The Game', I say 5 reasons why 'The Documentary' is going to shit all over 'The R.E.D. Album', and how he lost the sharpness he used to have in the beginning.

I'm not simple, yo

Eminem inches closer to the open air outside the closet he's cleaning out:
Eminem has never shied away from expressing his disapproval of the gay lifestyle. Ten years ago on a track called ג€œCriminalג€ he bluntly told us, ג€œHate fags? The answerג€™s ג€˜yesג€™.ג€ But now the 37-year-old rapper is admitting heג€™s a changed man.

In a recent interview with NY Times Magazine, Marshall Mathers III says heג€™s grown up and changed his stance.

ג€œI think Iג€™ve calmed down a bit,ג€ he admitted. ג€œMy overall look on things is a lot more mature than it used to be.ג€

Not only has Eminem matured, heג€™s also now supporting gay marriage. However, as a man whoג€™s endured a couple of divorces with the same woman, he says it with a touch of cynicism.

ג€œI think if two people love each other, then what the hell?ג€ he said. ג€œI think that everyone should have the chance to be equally miserable, if they want.ג€

Still, what a turnaround!

Eminemג€™s seventh album Recovery is released this Monday, June 21st.

Yeah that "hot snow" line in the hook seems like a real forced rhyme for something so easy to rhyme with like "not know". Can you explain it?

It wouldn't be as much of a problem if it was in a verse and not the hook.

The song as a whole ain't bad, IMO, tho. Beat is cool and I like how you actually ride it. (:pause:, right?)
I know you're into riding beats in "unique" ways but...stick to this type style man. It makes your awkward voice sound better when it's more in the cut like this and you attempt to actually work WITH the beat instead of AGAINST it.

Writing is pretty good on here too.

Not bad, but that "crazier than hot snow" shit is just silly dog.

thank you for listening and for your feedback.

gotta love the diverse opinons that art inspires.

most of the album is along these lines. but all the songs are about different things and no two beats are alike. I know the theme to the album is different than anything else out now.

tell someone you love: Mindbender's back!

See when you say shit like that, you come off as insecure and defensive.
Not that you are, but that's no good.

If you're tryna "make it" in any capacity in this rap shit (which you are) you gotta make your lines more accessible. Look at your boy Drake...he's Canadian too, but he's internationally accessible (to everyone but people who don't buy records anyway).

I still don't understand the line.
Still sounds forced and makes no sense (to me) in the context of the hook.
Vermillion was clearly sarcastic about the line, so I'm the 2nd person who didn't like it (at least).

Sometimes it's ok to admit a mistake homie.
I said I dug the track overall, just wanted a simple explanation as to what that one lines means, and why you put it in the chorus.

That's all mayne.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic. I'm just wondering if you think of something like that, think "that's amazing" and write it down? It's like me being from Hawaii and saying some shit like "I flow crazier than cold lava".

this is what I'm talking about. "diverse thoughts on art"
what is there not to understand? it's just juxtaposed imagery.
I don't think it's a mistake, I really like that hook and that line.

"my rhymes are crazier than something that cannot exist" aka hot snow.
how is a snowflake going to hold heat? it's just a funny idea to me.
maybe you have to be Canadian to appreciate it more, ha ha.

nobody wins them all. every rapper has some line that people are like :naswtf:

lots of people say things that are a bit exaggerated.

Drake is easily the biggest star in the city right now. But he's never here, and he's not the guy keeping the hip hop culture alive on a certain level. On another level, he is, and I love him and support him. But as far as the day to day, person to person, community connection part of hip hop culture? He's not running nothing, cause he's doing different things.

People like myself, Kamau, Organik of KOTD, and Empire are the life of the clubs, streets, radio and downtown scene.

Drake shuts down malls and arenas and shit, but he isn't here much, not like I'd think Diddy is often around NYC events.

I take no offense to what Drake says or why. I know what he means.

we all have our roles to play. real recognize real.

where did he say that?

GAME WANTS TO REUNITE WITH G-UNIT CAUSE HE KNOWS HIS NEW ALBUM IS ABOUT TO FLIZZOP DOWN THE FUCKING TOILET BOWL CAUSE EVEN DR. DRE CAN'T SAVE HIS PLAYED OUT FRANKENSTEIN GANGSTA CRAP. HE'S TOTALLY LOST THE WIT AND SHARPNESS THAT WAS HIS LAST REDEEMING QUALITY AS AN MC:

I WONDER WHAT 50 CENT THOUGHT WHEN HE READ THIS  :
West Coast rapper Game recently opened up about considering a G-Unit reunion and said he would be down to re-connect with 50 Cent for financial purposes.
Click here to find out more!

Game said a reunion could help benefit all parties and there would be no need for apologies on either side.

"It's a new day and it's really time to get money you know what I'm saying -- So all I'm saying is why not get out here wing it like Voltron and sh*t," Game said in an interview. "Bring it back full circle and make some motherf*ckin' money...I wasn't opposed to it...He got an ego. I got an ego. Ain't nobody apologizing. Ain't nobody saying that they was wrong, but you ain't gotta do that to make amends. You just gotta get together, do the sh*t, and you can do it for the sake of money. We don't gotta break no peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in half and do the sh*t. Come to an agreement as men, get the sh*t done like men." (Hip Hop DX)

I wish Diddy wasn't being hypocritical with this love movement he been talking about. Yeah hate exists, but you have to show it love still and only war with it as THE LAST resort, not the first response.

:fail:

still, these guys need beef to bring out the best in them and also to stay interesting. fuck they both have forgotten how to create anything intriguing, 'Hello Good Morning' sucks and that new G-Unit single is pure tired formula gangsta rap.

rap is outta control still, believe it or not
You're in Heaven right now, God.
Create the universe you dream of.
