LD - you're right. i do agree the song's certified creamed corn. that's undeniable. there's no need to applaud it. or any of the efforts to generate aid and attention for these folks. that's antithetical to the point, frankly. i'm just genuinely surprised that the only haiti dialogue in this space has been about this record. less so at the reaction for pointing that out, though.

2 of the artists you mentioned have made significant individual commitments to this effort and will continue to, "despite" their contribution to the song. i understand what you're saying, i do. my only disagreement or, rather, issue is that the conversation here about this ended with the yucks.

mike - i'm with you. but, after you talk mess about this mess, then what? if the *only* thing provoked by this was that, then...*shrugs*. that's all, homie.

thun - ha. i'm honored to be on the thrashing end of one of your angry googlings. wish you'd have blinked a couple times before collating the data, though. in this context, aggro swag is and ever shall be the pope but i'd like to think accuracy is still king. none of that's even near true, even the small, odd details. all of which are easily sussed out. also, making this about me is easy, predictable and beneath you in equal measure. but, being whapped by the archetypical etherlolzer is a real privilege. *dap*

anyway. this online music forum is a self-described community. a collection of like minded people who share time, ideas and energy. communities around the world, online and off, have done something to respond to tragedies as often as they occur. it's a natural outgrowth of the shared values of those groups; countries, churches, workplaces, grade school classes, bands, book clubs, other online music forums, etc. you've noticed this. s'been a global occurrence before this crisis, and will continue to be so after it. shoot, you've probably even participated on some level.

equally, communities have also continued to meander along without engaging in any sort of support effort. again, a natural outgrowth of those shared values.

if noticing that fact annoys you enough to spend the few minutes to dump me into your browser search rather than do anything else in the world then...whatever, homie. i'm super duper homosexual. you're not. congratulations.

right. completely done now. back to the lurking. thanks for engaging. point's made. deuces.
got more records than god.

Could've, say, set up a voluntary paypal stream for a special STLT90's edition dedicated to a particular
aid org with less proportionate effort than it would've taken to clown clef and 'em or resent and respond to me.

I don't know how I did it but I managed to watch all of this bullshit and this is why I hate it

the production is lame

Justin B sounds like a girl
Jennifer and Nicole's pained look at each other
looks so fake
Tony Bennets part seems odd
Miley Cyrus
whoever is after her
Wyclef
Lil Wayne...sounds awful
The MJ footage bits
Fuglicious
Akon
T-Pain...auto tune is so wack
Jamie Foxx doing Ray
LL Cool J etc parts
Kanye

In conclusion I never want to hear this bullshit of all bullshit ever again.

I think Jigga is a lurker on here

Tayoisnt, I truly am sorry about the natural disaster in Haiti.
And the pop remake it entailed. But mostly about loss of life.

The problem with Jigga's reasoning, sound as it is, is that the song he did with Rihanna and Bono is just as bad and perhaps worse in some aspects.

the more i think about this thing the more disgusted i get. its really the embodiment of everything that is wrong with the music industry and pop culture at the moment. Talk about an underwhelming collection of artists, taking a song that already sucks, and making it shittier.

 yeah, i heard that song once, and i would prefer my life never hearing it again. something seemed kinda insincere about it all...

and hey now: the  terms "smackyap" and "aggro swag" have now been contributed to :phila: . All is not lost.

Everything Mike said was on point. It meant well but IT WAS CORNY AS FUCK.

Posse cut songs/collabos that dealt with awareness for different issues that didn't come off as corny or didn't sound as forced as this shit:

Honestly, take a cue from one of these tracks and call it a day. The message is all about helping but at the very least....make the shit sound good.

I would have given more money to the haiti relief effort, if they promised to not make this song.
