Best Flow tournmanent?

Post by Thun »

Let's make it happen.

Not sure if it would be more productive to just vote on rappers based on their flow throughout their career or to nominate specific verses as examples of flows, but I'm sure we could figure it out.

Thoughts?

64 songs needed if we do this real tourney style. otherwise 16 will be fine.

I would love to hear specific tracks from peoples favorite MC's kickin' wicked rhymes like a fortune teller.

Too many people vote without even knowing who they are voting against.

here's my candidate for dopest flow in a song:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/aj9OYVaKAbQ&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/aj9OYVaKAbQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

and if anyone doubts his flow, another track:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/eOFTTMhf4Ys&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/eOFTTMhf4Ys&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

pick a song for each contestant after every round pick a new song, and when it gets to the championship each rapper gets 3 songs...a lot of work, but the way it has to be IMO...Gloss id be down to help, just email me.

Am I the only one who thinks that Monch's flow gets old after a while? Too gimmicky, I'm a fan but his flow is so much about his little syllable syncopation thing sometimes I'm not feelin' it.

This would be fun, love these tournaments. I haven't been posting long, what other tournaments did you guys have in the past? Anyways, Jay Z, BIG, Andre 3000, Method Man, Pharoahe Monch, Q-Tip, and AZ would be some MCs that I think should be included. Not sure about the song idea, but maybe each MC could have a short 5 song compilation that includes some of their best work flow wise. Anyways, good idea..

I can't remember if it was Prince Po or Monch but on the first album, there is one track where one of them says poet or poetical at least 4 times, that's annoying.

post-Organized Konfusion, I'd have to agree.

Monch is enormously overrated on these boards, though, probably because his political songs didn't make overt references to white people.

I love Monch as much as anyone, and I'd probably nominate his flow on "Bring it on" for this tournament, but it was hilarious how many times we was mentioned as goat status prior to Desire dropping on this board and how quickly he was forgotten after it dropped.

You guys know that people will judge flows according to how many multis a rapper can cram into a sentence?

case in point, Royce beat Mef in that "rapper skills" tournament.
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

In ANY tournament, lots of people are going to vote on a rapper based upon whig or bork appeal alone. It doesn't mean we shouldn't have the tournaments. Faggots can't help being born faggots.
