50 Centג€™s Before I Self Destruct Projected to Sell 150-160k

Post by Escobar305 »

The one day sales number are in and itג€™s not looking good for rap superstar 50 Cent.

According to trusted industry insider hitsdailydouble.com, Fifג€™s long delayed fourth solo album, Before I Self Destruct, is projected to sell 150,00 to 160,000 in its first week on the shelves.

If the estimations are correct, this will be the lowest debut week for the G-Unit general. 50 sold 872,000 copies of Get Rich or Die Tryinג€™ in 2002. In 2004, his sophomore album, The Massacre, rang up over 1.15 million discs and his latest LP Curtis moved close to 695,000 units.

Originally scheduled to drop on November 23 BISD was pushed up to a November 16 date after the album leaked online nearly a month ago.

The album has been available on iTunes since November 9, but, according to Billboard, because of the unique situation Nielsen SoundScan will be including those digital sales as a part of his first week tally. ג€”Max G

50 cent is irrelevant now. he made his fortune, and now he should just move on to acting like every other rapper does when they can't rap anymore.

Entirely different albums, artists and situations. Blueprint 3, save "Empire State of Mind", is fucking soccer mom rap. When you're on "The Ellen Degeneres Show" and "Oprah" doing promo, you're bound to hit the ground running. If it's still doing decent numbers, I guess I'm wrong.

All things considered, this makes Wale's 28k look respectable.

True, but considering all the effort that went in to getting Wale's name out there...and I mean to the people who weren't neccasarily the ones checking his mixtapes but rather the Kid Cudi/Drake fanbase...I think 28K in the first week has got to be a letdown. He had a strong buzz a year or so ago and maybe even earlier this year...but they pushed his album back how many times...And for what? A 2nd single that doesn't even have a video. I get that record labels don't want to waste money on records that don't sell...but I think with his case in particular they seemed to have already invested alot into him and then stopped short just before the album dropped.

Wale does suck (I liked his Back To The Feature mixtape w/ 9th wonder for what its worth) but their argument is that the album was massively undershipped. his people are saying only 30,000 copies were even sent out somehow

pretty embarrassing. jay, kanye, weezy and eminem are probably the only rappers that can put up remotely impressive sales numbers these days.

Ross didn't beat 50 tho. 50 took himself out with his own insanity.

kinda like LL/Canibus. Canibus beat LL in the battle, but LL won the war cause Canibus took himself out with his bad career decisions. LL is a living legend, and I'm enough of a lyrics lover to say that Canibus is too, but ~not nearly~ in the same way.

50 Cent got no song buzzing right now (does 'Baby By Me' even have a video out?) and the release date got moved around. plus there's not many guests, and 50 Cent is basically over as a rapper.

worst first week numbers of his career. glad my psychic senses are still semi-sharp... now i'ma go smoke this good shit for a job well done today

gotta love how fitting the album title for this situation though.

so when DOES he self-destruct? :killacam:

I don't think it has much to do with downloading but, at every spot I've been to in the past few days had a very minimal amount of the album. Target had 20 copies on the rack, best buy had about 50...

50 sounds irrelevant to me...

I wouldn't even download it, didn't download Jay either. May be a waste of blank discs.

i know.
years ago, i would have been excited at the idea that 50 Cent's whole new album leaked.

now? it's been out what, two weeks? i haven't even fucking Googled it to get it from any of the hundred of places that have it for free.

the 50 Cent/G-Unit Era is completely and officially over.

who's the next king of rap? :killacam:

Jay can't/won't wear the crown forever.... or for long, even.
T.I. when he gets out?
Prodigy when he gets out?
Shyne when he drops something?

ג€œThis is my biography. Itג€™s honest. Raw emotion. Itג€™s close to me. Thatג€™s why part of me will be a little offended if it doesnג€™t get heard. I donג€™t want people to take lack of sales as me taking a hit. This is something different. My label is letting me put out an album with a single that released seven months ago. Weג€™re not going for first week sales. Weג€™re only shipping out 30,000 of them. Weג€™re going for that grind. Weג€™re showing people that you can build a fan base the old fashioned way.ג€

you can agree to disagree just know your in a very, very small minority.

and before you jump in by bringing up all the baby momma shit did ross even respond to that? i got the impression he didn't give a fuck. the chick was and old fuck buddy who had a son and ross had no problem with 50 exploiting the fuck out of her. :trill:

and thats kind of respectable on wale's part. what i want to know is how the fuck he managed to get the label to agree to that situation. he is on interscope right?

Rick Ross NEVER made ONE song that was a :copy: to 50 Cent, in any way, shape or form. This flop of 50 Cent has nothing to do with Rick Ross, and Officer Ricky ain't publicly said shit towards 50 in weeks. Also, 50 Cent had other enemies that damaged his status more than Rick Ross.

it's just the end of the G-Unit era, period. you can't say that Rick is responsible. That's like saying Joe Buddens or Nas is responsible for the end of the Rocafella era. Just cause that's who the person was battling when shit fell apart doesn't mean they get credit for it.

but see it how you want, i don't care.

I agree with what you're saying, but Ross vastly outselling 50 in the same year does make 50's boasts and bullshit look more like Image and less like Image
