Slim Thug's Boss Of All Bosses Discussion

Post by blastmaster »

Finally. Its hard to believe that its been 4 years since Slim Thug released a solo album considering how much music he puts out. After a couple listens, it seems to have been worth the wait. Big beats and slick rhymes all over the place. "My Bitch" the only miss, obviously. Should have replaced it with "Theme Song", a great track regardless of how old it is. Interesting production, great guest appearance choices and solid choruses. I wish he would have went with the same type of production that made the last BHO album so special, but this approach works too.

Looks like Mr. Lee did everything except:

I Run, Smile - Jim Jonsin
Show Me Love- Mannie Fresh
Top Drop- Play N Skillz
She Like That- Zaytoven

Not positive though.

Track 14 is hidden. Comes in at the 8:32 mark and it features Joe Budden. Prepare to :jiz:

The album is pretty damn good.

Like Blast said, I was expecting same kind of production than on BHO album but I really don't have a problem with this shit right here.

Shame. Wonder if that was Dre/Aftermath acting funny. I was a bit suprised when I first heard it that he'd got a Dre beat.
Has he changed the lyrics aswell then ? At the end of one verse he says "and oh yeah, this a Dre track"

Yea, he changed it to "this is a Lee track". Better beat imo.

I was a huge fan of Already Platinum, and to be honest I haven't listened to much of Slim Thug since then. I'm checking this out right now and so far it seems great. The slow flow/voice works wonders over the beats that he picks.

Thought I'd love this track but I'm not really feeling the ultra deep voice of Slim Thug combined with the whiney and soft singing voice/rapping voice of Devin. Too large of a contrast. Or maybe I just need to hear the other version.
