IDE (Creative Juices) wrote:This is getting corny. If cats want to change the poll and let judges vote im all for it. I costume made the beat for the track, i stand behind my production. Allot of the remixes i heard are cool, but dont especially fit the song. Its funny how the same cats who predicted themselves and me in the finals, suddenly start crying when they arent getting votes. I work all weekend, i dont have endless time to promote a contest. Ive simply got at cats who support me to vote. If it was open for anyone to vote and no registration think of all the insanity. The fact that cats are willing to take the time to register wait to get confirmed etc. Shows they're dedicated, the vote is deserved. Im just putting it out there i have no problem with A&Rs or the people of philaflava making the final decision.

"pushier about decent product".. man flat out both Troys and mine, blow your remix out the water. instead of bitching. Why dont you put your efforts towards getting some of your hommies to vote. Its open game, same rules apply for everyone. Just because no ones cares about you, dont get all touchy about the process.. Its about the music... if i had a corny beat i wouldnt tell my boys to vote. Im feeling the remix, and the cats who vote for me are also. Im not trying to promote a myspace page. I work with a indi label ready to release 3 LPs.. This promotion prize, which isnt appealing to many is golden to me. Either way.. i would rather see someone active who has something to promote and has a dope remix win. "Fuck the Bullshit"
Honestly my dude... do you realize that your mix isn't even on beat? and you expect any real producer such as myself not to know that you're full of shit and that your mix is crappy because of this? I wasn't even trying to take it to a level of why mine is better than yours, i simply called you a cheater and pushy i.e. good @ marketing. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE ROSES BOY!!! and you wonder why your "3 lp's" havent been released...

I just want to justify my vote, Im a beatmaker from montreal quebec, and i feel that creative juices needs to be recognized for their hard work, i listen many stuff that they made and that shit is real hip-hop to the bone and i feel sorry that the contest is not respectful for the artist and some people should handle this with a more humble perspective.

Good luck for everybody tabarnak!

I listen to the track that you are yelling about, and imo, the mix is ok..anyways, too much "e" beefers in here i think.

Also on the positive side, the illiterate beef going on in here is pretty amusing.

We need to support so they can drop more science... If you didnt like the Random Luck CD who cares, dont listen to the song.... BUT VOTE STILL!!!

i just saw this on food networks:

Salsa Verde

* 1 x large bunch fresh Italian parsley, leaves picked, washed and dried
* 1 x large bunch fresh basil, leaves picked, washed and dried
* 1 x large bunch fresh tarragon, leaves picked, washed and dried
* 4 x large sprigs fresh marjoram, leaves picked, washed and dried
* 8 x anchovy fillets, finely chopped
* 3 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
* 2 tbsp Dijon mustard (30 ml)
* 1/4 cup white wine vinegar (65 ml)
* 3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
* Salt and pepper

Directions:
Salsa Verde

1. Combine all the fresh herbs and roughly chop.
2. In a bowl combine the herbs with the remaining ingredients and season to taste.
3. This sauce should not be made too far in advance or the herbs will lose their flavour.

Let the Sound Lab & My Two Cents mods be the judges. They'll reach a fair decision.

I'm over this. It isn't that important I just wish there was a better way of doing this. If the homies of Randam Luck would like to hand-pick the winner along with myself I'm good with that.

As for the "spread the word, link..."

Yeah spread the word about the contest and the link where you can download the remixes, listen and then cast your vote, not post a LINK and tell people to VOTE without even listening just because they're your MySpace buddies.

Shouldn't quality matter here?

yeah its pretty pathetic at this point.

it seems it didnt really work out as it shouldve
i think one problem is the zshare link. was it in one player like your philaflava radio it would be easier and cats would therefore prolly be more intrigued to listen.

because there are some good remixes in here, i wouldve expected a few votes for superphat production, dirtybird, awae and of course me hehe
but there seems to be no interest from the regular posters

a jury deciding winner and the 1st runner up through points, with the results in this poll counting as points from most to least would be a possible solution. or as someone suggested the cats from soundlab. im no regular there but there seem to be enough people who know their shit
strange that there werent more contestants from the lab

still props for putting this together phila

ROFL? wow you are easily amused it seems. The comment about not listening was because when we posted it most of our visitors (ill be included in that group) didnt like the Random Luck CD so didnt want to listen to all the remixes...

IDE asked me to vote, I took it upon myself to promote and get ppl to vote for someone we have a history with. Didnt realize supporting your people for an online competition was "cheating". I havent seen this many tears since my daughter got her last booboo. Should the runners up win a box of tissues? Why would you NOT get all your friends, family, w/e to vote for you. Do none of you have any friends with computers? Maybe you need to drive your boys to the library and get you some votes. Its the internet kids, its one forum. I promise chicken littles, the sky is not falling!!! Maybe if you dropped by HHB, threw some decent joints our way (clearly you visit), we would be happy to promote your shit too. No guess its easier to break out your maxipads and throw a PMS tantrum on a forum instead... respond if you want, i wont be reading any more of the playground tactics dropping in this thread.

if your worried about it being a "popularity contest" as mentioned earlier in this thread.... GET MORE FRIENDS. Funny that kids are mad that someone has a larger fan base than they do so fear of popularity gets their period flowing...You think everyone listens to all the Presidential candidates before voting for their National Leader? I think a remix contest can handle it...

Ridiculous...

Post by DavidCox92109 »

Yeah this whole contest now is pretty sad, i mean you have some really interesting different beats in the finals, i made my beat specifically for the track, and based it around the track, i mean to get ur beat heard on the BabyGrande website and newsletter is a nice exposure prize, but the way this whole thing is going down is bullshit, in my opinion at least, i think whomever has the best track should win, not this campaigning who can get all their homies to vote, i mean philaflava put this thing on and u gotta respect that, but the way its turning out is ridiculous, that Troy K, i mean ur beat is alright, but it doesn't fit the song at all, not even a little bit, i think everyone came with something that was great in their own style or way, but my approach was to fit my beat to the vocals, and make something that seemed like it was part of the session, not just put some vocals over one of my fly beats, but either way fuck it, i just posted my shit and didn't even check it, if i won, i wanted it to be because people liked my style and appreciated the time i put into making my beats, i didn't advertise as you can tell, but whatever, people do what they want, and thats their choice, but at least for a prize like this, to be on the website of a record companies, and to get some exposure, even just a little, you would want the best beat, not the person who registered the most times, lol this is fucking ridiculous, but it is what it is, if you like my beat and remix, let me know, thats good enough for me, quality speaks for itself, its all a matter of opinion when it comes to style, hit me up - davidcox92109@yahoo.com

^ I sent a message to Randam via PM to see if they wanted to change the way we decide on a winner. I have not heard back from them yet, but on the real I may just say fuck everyone and do things my way and just pick the damn beat. The prizes remain the same.

Amen bruh bruh, Amen... I should have just wrote what you wrote instead of arguing online... but everything you said is how i feel too... At this point im over it because of the way the winner is being decided... And no, i dont blame Philaflava, this contest is dope as fuck, and it introuduced me to your forum i've been participating in ever since... I just wish people werent so immoral, because its our cultures's decline...

AWAE's remix is killer... definitely one of the best entries in this contest.
