Finding cheap gear and records
Besides Pawn shop or the occassional guy who wants to sell his gear for cheap how do you come up with equipment you need.

i dunno. internet shopping is really where it's at for me..
musiciansfriend.com has come crazy deals. i got this package that came with a protools mbox, a decent enough mic and a stand and a couple decent monitors for like 450. shit was back ordered forever 'cause everyone was ordering it, but it's worth it i think.
as far as cheap records, i get all my records from the bargain bin, unless it's something i've checked out before.

craigslist - there was a guy selling one of his 1200s for $100. i was the first to call but my lazy ass told him i'd come pick it up the next day. needless to say, someone else snatched it with the quickness.
ebay has crazy deals. i'm always reluctant to pull the trigger though.
the last place i copped cheap records was a thrift store that was going out of business.
shit made my day.

Make friends with record dealers. Bring a portable turntable. I'll never buy a record blindly over $3.
I've heard it's different here in the Northeast than it is elsewhere. But here, the thrifts are so picked over that it's a waste of gas to go there. Unless you like spending an hour looking at crates full of Ballad of the Green Barets.

craigslist, ebay, people who have given up on their dreams (those are usually the best).
records, wherever I can find them. swap meets, old record shops, random stores that have records (I've found plenty, and it's a little weird, but I've gotten some great deals), craigslist, ebay, random people that mention they have some old records after overhearing me speak about some, all over the place.

eBay will have some of the best deals you'll find on gear... craigslist can be good too.
for rekkids... Find a rekkid shop in your area with a nice gigantic dollar bin and dive in. or go to flea markets. flea markets almost always have at least one person selling records for cheap...

Craigslist shits all over eBay in terms of rarer stuff. Not too mention the prices are absurdly lower than eBay's. Plus with Craigslist you can test the shit before you buy it and not blindly hope the asshole selling you the MPC he bought in '98 wasn't dropped seventeen times and saturated in weed smoke and beer splatter pattern.
Records can be found in any number of places. Fucking indie record stores liquidate that shit by the bin full. BisexualinDisguise doesn't strike me as the type who is interested in actually sampling and builiding his own kits. He's more than likely one of those faggots who buys "TIMBALAND SAMPLE PACKZ" off of eBay from twelve-year-old Norwegians at an obscene markup.
Bisexual, how old are you?
If you're over eighteen I recommend you stay the fuck away from buying gear and trying to make beats.

go to hospice shops for vinyl----I just got 30 records for something like 15 dollars---45's were 25 cents a piece---and lps were 95 cents a piece---lots of good shit I found---also my town has a local recycling center with a junk shop---lots of vinyl there too for pennies--- as far as equipment--I try and buy new--except for my synth--got it at the local music shop--$250 for Yamaha S 30-and it gets the job done
