Unknown Philadelphia 1996 Track ID

For 16 years I have been searching for a track that I heard on college radio back in 1996-1997. Unfortunately, I do not have an audio sample. Here is what I know about the track. 1. The actual song has a remarkably somber and introspective feel to it.

One thing I would like to add, if I remember correctly, the chorus had a sampled vocal, "Bring it on".

Jeru the Damaja - The Sun Rises in the East!! This album whet my appetite so much that when Wrath of the Math came out I had already recorded every song on college radio and pieced together the entire LP !!
